On this day when we mark the conquest of the sun by the moon, a nocturnal page-in-progress by Bruno Letizia — with co-heroine Florence Nightingale, founder of modern nursing as well as scholar of mysticism, much of it unpublished…what supernatural experiences might be missing from the record??

We'll give our werewolves the holiday off — but there are still Night Brigade EASTER EGGS! Here, letterer Ferran Delgado shows how a certain menacing voice-effect was grounded in an unforgettable vision from predecessor Tom Orzechowski (with artist Bill Sienkiewicz) from New Mutants #18!

A scene from Marvel's New Mutants #18, where Magik and Morningstar are leaving a darkened room and a mythic bear left behind them is growling.

A scene from THE NIGHT BRIGADE where Mary Seacole is confronting a werewolf whose growl is designed in letters inspired by Marvel's New Mutants #18.

Happy Good FEARday as THE NIGHT BRIGADE draws nearer. The first Crimean War started over a dispute about the Holy Land, used as an excuse for territorial bloodshed. Ideas that sound all too familiar in this besieged holiday season. Peace to all this weekend and may our horrors remain in movies.

A man's face, his eyes upturned to the heavens in hopelessness.

MARCH MONSTROSITY continues (and you didn't even know it had begun): All the best comic narratives and werewolf metamorphoses depend on process, so here we see how Bruno Letizia developed some of our main players: Mary Seacole, Louis Pasteur and a furry friend! 1/2

Nobody is ready for THE NIGHT BRIGADE, but it's coming toward you now! I'm startled to be working with the brilliant Bruno Letizia on art and Chris Stevens on edits, with roars and growls by the great Ferran Delgado! The horrors of war will go literal, and our crowdfunding soon goes live!

Mary Seacole, a 19th century Caribbean healer, confronts a werewolf at her camp in the Crimea one night during the 1850s war that was waged there.
