Got a little thrown off when I heard a strike three swing and a miss without the accompanying aneurysm.

You’re right about the Spanish broadcast. Vast improvement in the 5th inning at least.

I’m hearing a lot of people say BEARS.

Aaron Glenn should be fired after this game.

Gameday has been real jittery lately. Must be all the 40/40 anticipation. Hopefully it can relax now.

I can’t even talk about it but yes.

Today’s matchup is obviously a tribute to Taylor McGregor.

I’m no chiropractor, but my advice to anyone and everyone experiencing back tightness is to not play the Houston Texans.

I’ve had a whole day to think about it and, after deep introspective contemplation, I can finally say with confidence GO BEARS.

Rolison’s pitches were lining up perfectly on the Marquee broadcast with the Marlins logo behind home plate so that it looked like a weird graphic like the glow-puck or something. Such a weird illusion. Thought I was losing my mind until I figured out what I was seeing.

What a shot. Look at the yard markers! That defender started at the 5. Fully cooked in 10 yards.

The more distant position allowed Walsh to get a wider perspective that included both the runner’s hand reaching the base and the tag being applied a few feet away. Nice move by the umpire and great insight by Coom explaining in real time how the game is evolving.

Ron Coomer unloading some truly outstanding analysis of Brian Walsh’s umpiring technique on a stolen base. He observed that the ump took a position on the outfield grass, further away than the traditional approach, to adjust to the new trend of placing a tag further away from the base.

Another way of putting it is that in a world where there is no such thing as scarcity of goods and services in society, there would also be no such thing as scarcity of labor if a pandemic wiped half of us out.

Even if Elon weren’t lying when he says in the future we won’t need money, he’s glossing over the reality that in such a future, there would be no corporate obligation to provide healthcare.

It’s not necessarily essential for business to keep America livable. They can force huger and huger segments of the population to live in less and less inhabitable spaces without bearing much of a financial burden.

Adam Kellogg (he/him) @adambuckled.bsky.social · 20/08/2026
I don’t know what my point is other than that things are bleak. The entire American economic and tax system was designed to keep us dependent on corporations for healthcare and to incentivize big business to keep us alive. The advent of AI on the corporate level is eroding those incentives.

Adam Kellogg (he/him) @adambuckled.bsky.social · 20/08/2026
If a big company (ie the ones most likely to have self-funded health insurance plans) can replace ten $100K employees with AI, that might save them $1.5 million/yr. And that’s 10 people they don’t have to worry about getting cancer. 10 people they don’t need to encourage to work out.

2. The cost of an employee to a business is a lot more than just their salary, especially if they and their families require a lot of healthcare. Everyone *knows* this, but I don’t think it’s front of mind when we think about AI and its appeal to big corporations.

Two things I don’t think most people really grasp: 1. For most people with health insurance through their employers, the employers are self-insured. That is, the company pays their employees’ medical bills. The insurance companies handle the administrative end, but the funds are paid by the company

I mean, the kid swung at FOUR pitches and never missed (one foul ball). Letting him face Boyd that third time was real stupid.

Kudos to the Báez kid on the 5.000 OPS and all, but let’s not act like it’s the first time a RH batter has owned a LH pitcher. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me thrice, WTF, Craig?!

My twist on it is for NFL teams to buy out college football programs who can’t afford (or don’t want to keep pouring money into) their teams. They still compete in FBS or whatever, but they also develop players for their specific systems. The connection with the schools remains. 🤷🏻‍♂️

He is a person and he’s very sorry. I communicated very poorly, unwisely, emotionally, and disrespectfully. I’m truly sorry. I’m deleting the comment shortly.

No. By that logic I’m qualified to comment on posts that I’ve read and not qualified to comment on posts that I haven’t read. My comment wasn’t intended for her personally but toward anyone who hasn’t watched something. But there are ~42 other kinds of logic that make my original comment suck

I agree on all counts. I may. I had apologized directly to her just before your previous comment and I may delete it. But I’m not sure I deserve to have it erased from the record just yet.

I understand what you’re saying, but I wanna be really clear: I tried to say from the jump that she (like anyone) has a right to her opinion. I have zero qualms with anyone not liking anything. And I should’ve posted more thoughtfully. She’s extremely qualified to comment on whatever she watches.
