they did apparently trick Danny Trejo to be a part of one of these, so maybe it's another case like that?

I'm pretty sure The Goldbergs had cutouts of Artoo and Threepio from The Clone Wars in one episode, but I feel like the magic xylophone guy for pointing it out

He blew up at me and a few others for giving mild pushback on an unnecessarily personal comment in one of his reviews. He's kind of a bully

Ah yes, the Christian crucifix, the famously pro- public execution symbol

Walter Chaw:

I think it’s fun and funny that a religion that wears a public execution device around to signal their righteousness is upset about a public execution. Is it a competition thing?

I think nerds are eager to blame prominent names they can recognize rather than anyone in business who actually meddles with the creative end. But I like the majority of what we've gotten in theaters, and I'm not interested in debating the validity of that opinion.

Kennedy had more qualifications to be making films than most, so I don't think this is fair

LucasArts went through corporate turmoil in the years before it shut down, which I think was the biggest contributing factor

kinda wonder if whether or not Gareth Edwards would've gotten on the genAI grift regardless if either The Creator or Jurassic World did well

How many Adult Posters come off about the sanctity of the first three Toy Story movies:

Finally saw the latest Toy Story. Two thoughts come to mind: 1. It's honestly pretty impressive that there's never been an honest-to-god bad one of these films 2. It is extremely weird seeing adults on here try to create biting commentary for movies about children's playthings

also for what it's worth, Gordy Haab did the score for both Zero Company and Galactic Racer, which I think has more to do with the blending together than anything else. he also co-composed on the Jedi games with Stephen Barton and those sound great

I was listening to Outlaws soundtrack a lot when it came out and I still revisit a couple of tracks from time to time. lowkey think Wilbert Roget did a really good job of sounding star warsy while also giving it his own DNA

Rango convinced me they had the capability of breaking the mold visually, even when studios like Pixar were more popular. Those two recent films only reaffirmed my belief. I wish they could get even more eyes on them

D-16's anger at Sentinel is completely understandable, and even relatable. but Megatron's thing is that he would never stop at taking one life once he starts. Pax knew him enough to see this and the gap widening between them

adambomber @adambomber.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

ILM did this film, Rango, and Ultraman Rising. They all look fantastic and I wish they'd do animated features more often

He probably thought they all deserved the autonomy they were deprived of without their cogs, regardless of his own thoughts on D's anger Of course, he still gives Pax the Matrix in the end because Primus trusts him with the future more

Pattinson is pretty great in general. I think the long wait for a follow-up helps that movie feel more standalone. on top of it just looking and being good as its own thing

Iger forcing Solo to release in Summer 2018 was probably the worst of it to me, though. Dropping it between two major superhero films seemed to really derail them doing spinoffs in theaters

010

adambomber @adambomber.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

It's worth considering that Rise came out right before lockdown, too. In retrospect, that would've made releasing it later much more difficult. I think IX was just going to be plagued with unavoidable problems regardless of who ended up making it

adambomber @adambomber.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

There's probably some story DNA there in Underworld, but the bits he talked about with the sequel treatment's retired Jedi were illuminating to me. In the sense that not everything said by a respected character has to be taken as gospel. Especially in that particular movie or in this setting

130

adambomber @adambomber.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

I still wonder if George intended to follow up Obi-Wan warning away Jedi survivors in RotS himself, despite what Yoda claims in RotJ
