The beauty of design is that you can create the best-looking thing ever and then when you look at it the next day, you're gonna think it's absolute shit

"I try to run away from the idea" is really my favorite quote from this Highly recommend everyone to go watch the podcast with Tony Fadell and @lexfridman Truly a great interview

Adam Barta @adambarta.bsky.social · 07/01/2025

Why a mentor? Because they will help you believe in yourself... and make sure you are not crazy Tony says the best way to get a mentor is to build a community of like-minded people around you Then mentors will find you on their own

110

Adam Barta @adambarta.bsky.social · 07/01/2025

"Best ideas are the ones that make you forget about all the other ones" So how do you take the leap to build it? Tony says two things: 1. Believe in yourself 2. Get a mentor

110

Adam Barta @adambarta.bsky.social · 07/01/2025

"I try to run away from the idea" he says to keep coming up with new ideas, give it time If one idea keeps popping back into your head it's mostly likely the one Put it off "until its like a black hole that sucks you in"

120

Adam Barta @adambarta.bsky.social · 07/01/2025

Everyone has a ton of ideas but 99% of them are not great so how do you pick the great one? Tony says that great ideas chase you Don't dive right into them, write them down, think about them first...

110

Adam Barta @adambarta.bsky.social · 07/01/2025

How do you come up with great ideas? I watched 2-hour interview with the creator of the iPod, iPhone and Nest to find out Tony Fadell Here is how he does it (and my favorite quote):

This is your sign to try new things Since last year I was a: - developer - student - copywriter - reddit marketer - notion geek - X influencer - designer And I'm continuously having more fun! Changing things up keeps me going. Might work for you too!

Are paid fonts better than free ones? Bought a font pack and everything feels more fancy now Am I just biased?

020

Adam Barta @adambarta.bsky.social · 06/01/2025

ChatGPT is super bad at more realistic stuff Grok is fine with it but both are slow compared to Midjourney. Also their tools are awesome for finetuning images and exploring different concepts In the time it takes Chat or Grok to generate 1 image, midjourney gives me 4 options
