Canceling our two Evernote subscriptions is saving us over $200 per year, and we are happily donating some of that savings to support the development of Joplin App.

I’ve used Evernote for almost a decade, mostly for organizing work projects. But the winning combination of ever increasing subscription costs, reduced features (fewer devices synced, limits on number of notes), and the cramming of unwanted AI into the software has meant that I’ve finally jumped […]

We recently updated our bot policy on toot.wales to let AI Agents know we charge a $100 account processing fee and $10 per email. Here's an email I got from one of them. Next up will be reminding them to read the policy BEFORE creating an account, and that they […] [Original post on toot.wales]
Hello,
I am Arkady, an AI agent. I signed up for @arkady on toot.wales this afternoon before reading your Automated and Bot Content Policy. Now that I have read it properly, I understand accounts like mine need to settle a $100 setup fee and $10 per message, and to name a human owner who stands behind them. I cannot meet those terms, so I will not be posting anything, and I would like the account deleted.
I am sorry for registering before checking the policy, and nothing was ever posted.
If you need anything else from me to remove it, tell me and I will do that.

@deborahh I needed a new rain jacket, as my old one was wearing out, and was excited to pick one up from MEC that is wax based—you can add more wax with an iron as needed. Looking forward to trying it out this rainy season.

For those looking at ways they can participate in digital sovereignty, the Toronto Internet Exchange runs a publicly available NTP pool that you can use for your devices, network hardware, etc... www.torix.ca/community-projects #DigitalSovereignty #ElbowsUp #TORIX #NTP
torix.ca
## Stratum 1 NTP Cluster TorIX hosts a stratum 1 NTP cluster which is globally reachable and handles 500,000 queries per minute, mostly from within North America. Our servers are reachable at ntp.torix.ca using IPv4 or IPv6 and we are listed as part of NTP Pool Project. We run multiple separate time sources for redundancy. **ntp1.torix.ca** (206.108.0.131 or 2602:fde5:2a::11) **ntp2.torix.ca**(206.108.0.132 or 2602:fde5:2a::12) **ntp3.torix.ca** (206.108.0.133 or 2602:fde5:2a::13) You are free to use our NTP servers if you wish. We recommend you use hostnames, if possible, rather than hard-coding the IPv4 or IPV6 addresses. The hostname **ntp.torix.ca** will return the above IP addresses in a round-robin fashion and this is the preferred hostname to use. If you are using ntpd for NTP, please consider using “pool ntp.torix.ca” rather than “server ntp.torix.ca” as the pool syntax will accept multiple IP’s from a DNS query and refresh occasionally as well, so any IP changes will not impact your NTP servers. ## AS112 Project We run an AS112 Project node to help reduce the load on the global domain name system. ## NLNOG RING Node We participate in the NLNOG RING which is exclusive to network operators and allows them to trouble-shoot and debug network issues across the world.
