📢 We’ve had great submissions for our Pride in Place event, but we want to broaden the event’s interdisciplinarity. We particularly welcome work on political violence, immigration, political media, and urban processes Extended deadline: 2 October. DM for the CFP #CFP

A slice of speculative postwar British seaside planning via America: Geoffrey Jellicoe’s 1945 plan for Mablethorpe & Sutton-on-Sea. Thanks Uni of Chicago for the loan, @uni-of-warwick.bsky.social for helping track it down, and the Portland Cement Association for preserving it!

I’m co-convening a conference with @aidandiable.bsky.social at the University of Warwick for doctoral and early-career researchers exploring place, civic identity, national belonging, and political imagination across historical and contemporary contexts. Get in touch for the call for papers.

A short thread to introduce myself. I’m a part-time PhD researcher at @uni-of-warwick.bsky.social, where my work examines how the future of British seaside towns was imagined and negotiated through postwar planning and management of the built environment.
