It's going to require technical and societal changes, I'd rather some scientists were in the labs working solutions that will at least mitigate some of the effect. Getting the develop world consumers to change behavior is a much bigger challenge that will take much longer.

Not a bad idea. The leadership should say to the party, this motion is contentious so we would like to put it to a referendum and ask membership if it should be kept or rejected, and explain to the membership the pros and cons. Or is such a democractic option not within their constitution. #bbcAQ

Even so, my point is this is a fringe group. It's not the majority view. And that majority will, if put to the test, choose to eject the fringe element that might be harming the party.

Just over 1,000 supported the motion, the other 220,000 were not as motivated. I suspect when it's put to the membership that the party can be damaged by fringe policy groups, the larger group will agree with leadership to do something about (overturn it or change constitution).
