That’s a reasonable approach for authenticity! For my part since I’m just making stuff up I’ve the option to create simple easy-to-read names rather than dazzling “Elvish” ones. But even though simple, soft C to hard C for Cerel could affect MOOD so if they’re comfy with soft C they should keep on.

Here’s my character name pronunciation spiel. Yes there are “correct” ones. But As a reader, I wish for a glossary & pronunciation guide in the back. As a writer, I want my readers to enjoy my characters as *they* see them, & if that’s with a different pronunciation that’s fine! #writingcommunity
