I went in with high expectations, I think you should, it's Kenji Tanigaki & Kensuke Sonomura, two of the best action designers working today & since, way back. & it delivers, THE FURIOUS is designed for performers that perform on a very high level & everyone rises to the ocassion

Yup, I am alive AND I am in Stockholm, FURIOUS is still running on a small telly screen in a cupboard here… so I’ going!

Lastest release info on THE FURIOUS, this time with sources to back it up. Still unsure whether Mainland China is also getting it simultaneously to HK. Really surprised by lack of news from some territories (Spain, Italy, South America, Korea, Japan... hopefully soon)!

#TankTuesday makes a suprise comeback with DER TANK (2025). Lapses into student film territory at times & shows signs of a limited budget but overall I had a good time with it, has some atmosphere, lots of fog machine & plenty of the central Tiger tank.

Gonna get back to my favorite metal releases of the year if anyone is interested, & while there is some great releases I gotta note that there was a time when Black Metal felt "dangerous"/"authentic"/"real", I'm ofc talking about the problematic & Reprehensible, Graveland in particular.

After the very disappointing installments of Who finds a friend finds a treasure & Go for it! in the Terrence Hill/Bud Spencer-verse, I’m for the Hippopotamus, was a welcome return to hanging out, sharing a meal & a smackdown with these loveable characters.

#Metal Before collapsing into indie/post crap on sophomore releases, I think Tatterdemalion found a moment of balance on their debut album, balancing the black, post and ambient influences into a brief stable beauty. HELLZAPOPPIN (1941) feels like a rosetta stone for all strands of cinematic comedy ever since, tearing down the 4th wall with a grin, but in particular its center piece suggest the concealed lives of the servants & maids as a brimming force of life & creativity lived before scuttling back to duties.

As either fractured memories, fantasies, or both of Bond (& other pulpy spy thrillers) as directed by Raoul Ruiz & Dario Argento's love child. Cattet & Forzani keeps honing in on their formalist swagger pulp, shaping something more & more their own; seductive & assured.

OK, so this is embarrassing. Having earlier slandered Guillermo del Toro by saying he'd never made a film with an exploding helicopter, I've been reminded that he did blow one up in Hellboy II: The Golden Army. One exploding helicopter though, that's pathetic.
