The tactile periodic table at the @acscwd.bsky.social table at the member lounge! Hundreds of people came by to check it out, and over 100 stayed to help glue thousands of beads to make it braille-readable. Two were finished, and many people got a spontaneous crafting break.
Three ACS meeting attendees sit at different sides of a wooden periodic table, gluing 1mm beads into divots carved into the wood. Once the glue is cured, a braille reader can read every element’s atomic number, chemical symbol, and atomic mass.

Many hands make light work! At the @acs.org Chemists With Disabilities (CWD) Braille Periodic Table activity at the #ACSFall2025 Member Lounge, over 100 people have helped glue braille dots for element symbols so far. One is almost done! Aiming to finish both Tuesday, so come join us to help out!
