We decorated S2 226 for BU's 80th Anniversary Office Decorating Contest!!! Please come check it out this week when you're free! (Personally, we think it looks pretty amazing 😉)
A picture of a display based on the history of the chemistry department. A large green background is taped to the wall with various photos throughout the years scattered across the green. There's an old periodic table on the top left with a modern one on it's left. Below the green are two tables with green table cloths. The left table cloth reads "Department of Chemistry, Binghamton University" with various tools, old and modern, for photometry to observe the light spectra of elements. The right table has no words on its green table cloth and has an old and a modern balance on its right and more old and modern instrumentation for photometry.A large grey desk with two computer screen, a computer tower, a landline, black printer, and a pile of black binders on top. The desk has been decorated with a chemistry theme. The computer tower has small child blocks with elemental symbols on them. The back of the desk with two shelfs have large blocks spelling "ScIEsNCe" with elemental symbols. The window on the back has plant diagrams and three plants. There's also a Erlenmeyer flask filled with green pencils and some model molecule s near the printer. A white wall decorated with a chemistry theme. The left has a corkboard filled with white index cards. The center has the title "The Most Precious Element is You!" The index cards are filled with made up chemical symbols with small hand drawn pictures in the four corners. There are 17 cards in total on the corkboard. The top left and right corners of the cork board have two modern periodic tables. To the right of the cork board is a larger periodic table. At the bottom of the photo on a grey desk and next to a black printer is an old and modern molecular model kits as well as a tall black pencil sharpener tower.A wooden bookshelf filled with various chemistry items. On top of the shelf are two molecular models, a wooden stand and a tall ring stand. The top shelf is full of books, including "Handbook of Chemistry and Physics: 71st edition" and "Lessons in Chemistry." The second shelf has chemicals, empty glass containers, plastic hand pipettors, voltameters, pH paper and FLIR with a connected ipad. The third shelf has three old Bunsen burners, a stir plate with two "fleakers" filled with a green liquid, various sized beakers also filled with green liquid, and two cone like beakers with a foam finger in the back. The fourth shelf has old tube-liked instrumentation. The bottom shelf has four crystal structure molecular models. There's a mail room visible in the back through a doorway on the right.
