Is a simple "I'm sorry" enough when an AI fails? 🤖💬 A new TOCHI paper, Zahra Ashktorab et al. find that trust repair is not one-size-fits-all. Users prefer explanatory apologies for general technical errors, while empathic apologies are more effective for addressing AI bias.
