on the left, a few potted plants sit under the shade of an out-of-view awning.
on the right, a feminine figure with short red hair and cat ears has just taken a bit out of a watermelon icy pole. their black sundress, and the white cardigan draped over their shoulders, are blowing slightly in a breeze.

A feminine figure in a dark jumper and shorts sits on the end of a pier at night, legs dangling in the dark water. Fireflies dance around a small jar of lights sitting alongside them. At the shore, a small field of blooming white flowers gives way to a sparse pine forest rising up a small ridge, framing a clear night sky.

📸 me 🌏 tarried precipice vrchat.com/home/world/w...
photograph of a landscape in a vrchat world
the overall ambience is a murky green-brown. rough rock cliffs frame the image to the left and right, rising towards a densely clouded sky. similar rocks are underfoot, sloping down towards a lightly wind-swept body of dark water that opens up into a lake. a tall mast-like structure juts out from the water in the mid-ground, translucent sails draping unattended from the yard. behind it, a small group of rock spires protrude, leaning this way and that. a large construction consumes much of the background, vast wooden beams assembled haphazardly into a form reminiscent of a bird's nest on its side. similar masts, spires, and constructions can be seen fading into the misty distance.

i knew when i wrote this comment that it'd bite me in the ass eventually but i mean, come on, really? to trip this, a file has to exist at the point in time of a HIST snapshot, and happen to sit straddling the exact point the containing .dat was split across patch parts in that HIST
A comment in code, with git status marker showing the last line has been added recently.

Check if the file could be found in the file operations.

ASSUMPTION: Target sqpack files read from a FileCommand-provided .dat file will not be split across a patch file boundary. While this is realistically possible, the chances of it occuring are vanishingly remote. If everything has blown up in your face because of this and you find this comment, bap me.

NOTE: Broken in 7.0 HIST for ui/icon/195000/195006_hr1.tex

17.3/17 HURT surprising likely nobody, the scaffold was both the largest and most painful section to dismantle. ended up grabbing a second bag to not overfill the first. that was a Big Job
the instructions are open to step 1.
no constructed model parts remain on the table.
the original bag marked "1" is now marked "1.2".
the second bag marked "1" is now marked "1.1", and sits on top of the other 4 bags on the table.
a small bag marked "SPARES" sits alongside the others, full of smaller lego parts.

ackwell @ackwell.au · 08/04/2025
17.2/17 HANDS
continued deconstruction of the core scaffold. the instructions sit open to step 27.
the original bag marked "1" now sits, full, with the other bags. a second bag marked "1" sits partially-full where the first was previously.
the central section of the scaffold has been dismantled; only the rear half remains constructed.
a sharpie permanant marker sits on the desk alongside the previously present tweezers and lego removal tool

17.1/17 MY
partial completion of the last section. instructions are open to step 82.
bag 1 is open in the centre left, looking about half full.
a little over half the model's scaffold sits to the top right, put aside while smaller sections are being dismantled.
a small part of the removed half of the scaffold sits centre-frame above the instruction manual, with a pair of tweezers besideclose up of the join between two major sections of the scaffold after detaching.
14 partially-removed pins are arranged around the contact points.
well over 20 fully-seated pins can be seen elsewhere around the model.
a pair of tweezers sits between the parts.

16/17 this section was practically just pulling apart the landing gear - only ~20 steps across a few pages, but gotta do it 6 times lmao. some of the vertical rods that the gear attach to the model with are slightly bent - hardly surprising given the extended load of all that weight.
instructions are open to step 130.
bag 2, notably less-full than some prior, sits on top of bag 4.
the model, now without landing gear, sits flush on the table, little more than a skeletal scaffold.
120
ackwell @ackwell.au · 05/04/2025
15/17 and with that the front half is cleared out too, along with another diorama
bag 3, now full, sits in the top left with bag 4.
the instructions sit open at step 152.
the model has been completely stripped of hull and interior - now just a sturdy scaffold with large holes through to the table surface.close up of the model's diorama of the falcon's lounge room.
the couch, scaled appropriately for lego minifigures, encircles a custom printed piece for the hologame table in the bottom left.
stacks of circular coloured pieces form horizontal piping above a grated floor to the bottom right, leading to a printed console and swivel chair in the upper right.
in the top center, another example of the faux-depth corridor leads into the structure of the model.
100
ackwell @ackwell.au · 05/04/2025
14/17 removing some of the interior plating and diorama, incl. closeup of one of the interiors
prior completed bags have yet again been cleared off the table. bag 4 now sits alone in the top left.
instructions are open to step 249.
the model's rear half is now completely bare structure, showing table through the large rectangular holes. the detailed landing gear is partially visible through the gap.detailed image of one of the internal dioramas. the corridors are visibly flat stickers with a single-layer constructed entry to give a sense of depth. printed computer consoles and lego technics piping bestow a sense of clutter to the scene.

12/17 it's impressive how quickly it loses recognizeability once you remove the outer borders tweezers got a very good workout on that lot.
front scaffold and structure is completely missing from the main model, leaving a notably odd-looking structure left.
bag 6 now sits complete along with 7 and 8.
instructions are open to step 396

11/17 beeg holes
instructions open to step 471.
bag 7 now full of parts and sitting with bag 8.
front prongy bits of the model now have no upper or lower hull, leaving them as simply an outline of where the model once was above the table.

ackwell @ackwell.au · 26/03/2025
10/17: tweezer time. really starting to see the table through the structure now.
previous 4 bags have been removed from the table, bag 8 now alone in top left.
model missing large chunks of hull from underside, showing outline of core superstructure.
instructions open to step 531

9/17: all the upper hull gone. past halfway done at this point
instructions open to step 647
model has no upper hull remaining, exposing a lot of the internal superstructure and detailing
4 full bags sit in the top left

the desk is now visible through the internal structure where the centre and outer walkways were.

4/17, this time with an in-progress pic still working through dismantling the upper facades
work in progress image of disassembling a section of the millennium falcon.
all items sit on a large desk. as prior, the main model sits along the right edge of the desk. a piece of the ships' forward upper hull has been removed.
most of the removed hull sits immediately to the model's left, missing one flange off a central beam.
the instruction manual is open to step 1072, and has a partially-disassembled flange sitting on top of it.
a tupperware container lid with the removed pieces from step 1073 sits above the manual. a bag labelled "14", with a small collection of pieces in it, sits to its left.continuation of the prior image.
the removed hull pieces and partially disassembled flange are no longer visible. beside the model now sits a red mug full of milk tea.
the instruction manual is open to step 1030, the start of section 14.
the bag labelled "14", now containing significantly more lego pieces, sits toward the back of the desk, beside the one labelled "15".
a bag labelled "13" sits on top of the manual.

further disassembly of the millenium falcon.
items sit on a large desk. the main model sits along the right edge of the desk, having been rotated for easier access from the previous image. more gaps in the upper hull are present, towards the front of the ship.
bag 15, now full of parts, sits at the back of the desk.
at the front of the desk, the instruction booklet lies open at step 1082. bag 14 sits on top of it empty.

2/17: ough this included the first bit that reeeeally wasn't designed to be taken apart. spudger got a serious workout.
disassembly of the millenium falcon continues.
items sit on a large desk. in the top right, the main model sits partially disassembled. the cockpit and raised hull attaching the cockpit to the rest of the ship is now missing.
beside the model, two bags of disassembled parts are sitting on top of each other. the top-most bag has "16" written on it in black marker.
the instruction book lies open at step 1135, with an empty bag marked "15" sitting on top of it.

after a long while sitting on display, it's time to pull the lego millenium falcon apart, one bag at a time. dis gonna be a big job. will post progress pics in 🧵 as i go 1/17: didn't think to start taking pics until partway through it whoops
work in progress disassembly of section 17 of the lego millenium falcon.
items are laid out over a large desk with a stool.
the main model is in the top right of the image, missing only the radar dish and cover piece for the centre of the disk.
the removed centre of disk is sitting to the centre-right of the image, partially disassembled.
the instruction manual, a hefty ring-bound A3 tome, sits open in the foreground at step 1329, with lego pieces from disassembly of step 1337 (lmao) atop it.
already-disassembled pieces sit in a compartmentalised box in the top-left.
