Dog super conked out after her trip to the beach after flinging herself into the waves. This dog hates baths but apparently, when it's on her own terms, LOVES the ocean. She didn't try to eat the dead pufferfish or jellyfish, so I'm very proud of her.

I took this cool-ass pic of Venus last night over Chelsea Beach. Turns out it was a new moon and it meant the sky was way darker than usual. We also saw some funky nebula activity, thought it might have been a supernova but I think we were wrong on that. There is so much cool stuff up there

Tesla drivers not beating the allegations of being absolute morons who should not be behind the wheel of a car. Dickhead sat there for 15 minutes despite the bus driver leaning on the horn. Like, what the fuck. This is a normally busy road off a busy highway, next to a school.

Beach time was had! Did a little walk along Chelsea beach tonight before it started raining, then got plenty of practice driving home in the rain. Video is of Willow, our usually bath-avoidant dog, trying to fight the water along the shore. Very funny.

Had a lovely day yesterday with @spiltcoffee.com at Moonlit Sanctuary, hanging out with some native Australian animals as a belated celebration of 11 years together. I got really lucky with him, and I'm thankful for him every day. Also he puts up with my appreciation for reptiles.

I love that - there's an animal sanctuary on the outskirts of Melbourne that has these cuties - obviously the wallabies and roos are free-roaming but the tassie devil (being a chompy boi) is not. He is very well looked after though. Alt text for info on these cuties. Both at Moonlit Sanctuary

Played the worst April fools prank on Willow yesterday and took her to the vet to have a small lump removed from her foreleg. She has a bandage on her foot and is very mopey today. Here is the glassy-eyed baby when we picked her up after surgery

Something that has made me happy recently is watching The Amazing Digital Circus on Youtube. Final episode out in June this year and it's super smart and funny and @gooseworx.bsky.social absolutely smashed it out of the park. Also Bubble is my fave character, hands down.

Carbon awareness is not a silver bullet, however: with larger models, the carbon emissions tied to LLM workloads tend to be quite high, even when developers strive to use renewable energy sources:
