Lastly you can’t forget that you also need to eat and keep the office tidy, so cooking and housekeeping is its own job as well.

Then on the publishing side of things you have a book agent, a marketer/promoter, cover artist, layout specialist, web designer and social media person. Maybe even a tour manager.

The printing production can call for a manufacture liaison, inventory/storage and distributer, as well as packaging and shipping, which are all their own jobs.

🌈 Achiru et al. @achiru.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

In the comics industry, you have a writer, an artist who does the sketch of the page, an inker, a colourist and even assistant artists for backgrounds, as well as the letterer, which is already six jobs.

Sometimes I’m forced to pause and reflect on how I’m doing 20 different jobs with no pay—no wonder I’m exhausted.

So I’m recovered from the cold but damn if my arm still needs more recovery time from working on both CalFurry commissions and drawing Mann and Lucky’s wedding last week.

Thank you! I know I originally wanted to launch the kickstarter this year but my health has not permitted me to complete the books on that initial timeline. It will probably be delayed to 2027-2028.

I have never loved a skirt more than the ones I have bought from Maya. I’d hate to see this little online skirt shop close.

I can’t believe in four more months it will have been 10 years since Mann met Lucky. 🥰

It’s so hot, I’ve been sweating all day. I even took a bath in between and I’m still wet. 😭

Something people struggle with is that even if the narrative goes in a different direction than you hoped, you are perfectly capable of exploring that story idea yourself and getting plenty out of it without the author being the one to give that to you in THEIR story. They took nothing from you.
