I might be able to connect you with some borzoi folks in your area if you're interested in the breed. For a giant breed, borzoi are relatively healthy, their average lifespan is typically 9-12 years. Sighthounds have a different temperament than St Bernard's or guardian breeds, but i love them. 😍

Borzoi... giant longhaired sighthounds historically from Russia, they go from 55 kph (~34mph) to 18 hour couch potato at will. Afghans are similar in body structure and are also athletic loungers, but they're slightly shorter, with a high-set curled tail, and longer coat all over.

I'm in higher ed, so the problems are different than tech but the solutions might be parallel: I'm testing GB10 systems in a remote access lab. Students will make mistakes that can burn through subscription limits fast, but local compute means the cost is just power & already-sunk capital...

I wrote a *furious* complaint about Columbia House on USENET after a manager cursed me out when I tried to cancel. He fraudulently signed me again but when collections showed up years later, I printed those posts and asked if they'd like to see if a judge believed I signed up again that week.

I assure you, with my son stuck in PEI still, I've learned firsthand just how much this company is screwing its employees and customers with a full expectation that the government will bail them out. They didn't do one iota of preparation to prevent the harm to clients.
