An interesting anomaly to me: writing Dr. Who fic is the first time in ages I've had a single-fandom archive I can upload fic to. I assumed I'd get the bulk of viewers on AO3, especially since Teaspoon has not been that active for a while, but I'm actually getting read more on Teaspoon:

archiveofourown.org/works/79995231 New Doctor Who fic! G rating, Rose/Tentwo. The Metacrisis gets in a traffic accident, and Rose is there when he wakes up. Talks about death, the afterlife, life, and children ensue. Hurt/Comfort, heavy on the comfort.

A fic snippet from Delicate by Ace Queen King:

"Try a lorry," she said shakily. "A small lorry—but still. A bloody lorry ran into you."

"Well, if its bloody, at least I mucked it up being brilliant on my way down," he said with a grin, trying to make the heaviness of the moment feel just a smidge lighter, but any levity he felt vanished when he looked at her.

She wasn't laughing.

Both my main fandoms right now are twenty years old and understandably no one wants to talk about the plot for them. But it sucks because I AM STILL FERAL

Every day my fashion sense battles between who I want to be (a gentlemanly fop of the early 1900s) and who I actually am (a sluggish sloth who subsists most of the time in jeans and a hoodie).

This truly sustains communities. There's been a lot of times where I would write a rare pair, even knowing 1-3 people might read it, because those 1-3 people were my friends and I knew they'd be talking to me about it for a while. Please let fanartists/writers know you appreciate them.

It's been 20 years, but I don't think any game has ever nailed the poignancy of sacrifice in war the way Suikoden 1 and 2 do for me. This scene -- and the one between Teo and Tir in Suikoden 1 -- still make me cry.

Kiba and Shu talking. Kiba says: "Master Shu, I have already died once with my defeat, so I do not fear death."

Kiba asks Shu to take care of his son: "All I ask in return is that you take care of my son, Klaus. Under your tutelage, I am certain he will become a brilliant strategist."

Illustration of Vander, Jinx and Silco from Arcane. Vander has an appearance similar to his look in Season 2 Episode 7. Jinx has her usual twin-braid look but with a slight modern spin, wearing long patterned socks, sweatpants and fishnet gloves. Silco has his usual look with the jagged face scars and a simple outfit of a button shirt with a sweater vest. The three of them sit together on a sofa, illuminated by the blue light of a TV screen. Jinx sits in the middle, with a bittersweet expression on her face, whilst she leans against a sleeping Vander. Silco is also leant in, asleep on the other side of her.

Silco has his usual look with the jagged face scars and a simple outfit of a button shirt and trousers. Vander is in the middle of cooking pancakes over an electric stove-top, whilst Silco hangs on his left arm, leaning in to kiss his shoulder.

…is it just me or is fandom becoming hyper negative compared to what it used to be? I’m not in the best mental space atm but I feel like I haven’t had a day in months where I saw much squee at all.

Time to write insanely bleak Kazuya and Lee fic Let’s put on incredibly sad playlist and try to catch up on the 4tw quests Writing bleak stuff makes me feel better when sad weirdly.

Since it's around the corner, I made a Tekken Father's Day card. I tried using two separate mechanics at once. This allows Kazuya to move his hands and Heihachi to descend when the card is opened.

Tekken fans must be the most impressively bad at game biz I’ve ever seen. “They’re selling a character everyone wants, they must be greedy assholes” “I want every legacy outfit, but these ones MUST be free” “I don’t want to pay for a stage, all stages should be free” Like bros, pick a lane

Cute bit of animation detail: Kazuya takes a scolding from Jinpachi a LOT more seriously than he does from Heihachi.

Heihachi Mishima berates his son for losing while Kazuya ignores him, staring into the distance.

Kazuya listens with his arms folded across his chest and head down as jinpachi berates him for losing.

I remember that there was a huge controversy when this was released in EGM because after giving Zelda and Metal Gear perfect 10's, their 4 reviewers only gave Tekken 3 a 10/10/10/9. Hilariously, the reason for the 9? It "rewards newbies for button-mashing." Ah, the more things change... 🤣🤣🤣

Wanted to get an American style fight stick and man, your options are LIMITED. Literally have to build your own, and 90% of the enclosures on the market won’t fit an American collar. Which is a shame because I grew up on the Happ. I’d really love to try a Yankee/euro one. Plus? Comes in lime.

Brief foray into a childhood favorite to support the remaster: Suikoden 1, the Gate Rune wars! I can't tell you how nostalgic it is to boot up my childhood favorite RPG. I still like the core message, even all these years later...

Done with Veilguard. It had the up and downs but honestly I loved this dragon age. Beautiful, glorious, elegy for BioWares fantasy series. In ten years they will call it a lost classic. My DA game rankings thus far: DA2 DA:VG DAO DAI
