This is the kind of shit I hate about BlueSky. Somebody saw my work and assumed it was AI--it is definitely not--instead of realizing that it is original art. I don't use AI. Some stupid shit who can't tell the difference puts me on a moderation list because BlueSky doesn't moderate its mod-lists.

So here's how lazy and incompetent this regime is. The promos for the fair actually looked kind of cool with open pavilions glowing and massive crowds. You could almost ignore the Washington monument being moved and the ferris wheel for ants. Instead they came up with "FEMA-chic" disaster housing.

FEMA chic disaster housing instead of open pavilions at the GASF on the Mall. Tacky printed Neo-classical columns with a few fake columns at either end that don't reach the ground. No seating, no shade, and a fake Trump Arch with a Statue of Liberty in gold carrying a shield and sprouting wings. Muddy uncovered walkways. Instead of state flags, little plain flags with the 2 letter abbreviations on them. A wimpy ferris wheel and an overall feeling of outdoor trade show.

Promo for America 250 that says a "mid-90s desktop publishing" office manager designed it. AI generated image of nothing how it actually looks. Someone who thought that AI would scale things properly and instead wound up with a Ferris wheel that can't hold people-sized people and an extremely tall and thin Washington monument conveniently moved to the side for a better view of the Capitol bldg. Much better looking, with variety and more open space, than the bland bleak ugly pop-up crafts fair crap they actually used.

Lately, seems like everything's behind a paywall. Here's one that should never be--NBC or any other broadcast network. And yet... NBC's product, reputation, and reach depend on the PUBLIC airwaves, a series of monopolies granted by the US government. They shouldn't charge for what we already own.

The airwaves are a public trust and, while allowed to sell advertising, the stuff they broadcast is supposed to be free. In Tasini vs. New York Times the Supreme Court said that repackaging content for the web was not a transformative act. If this is a repackaging of a product that has weight and value because the cseller has been granted a monopoly of a public trust why is this not a breach of faith?
