Love the contrast of the bronze and blue.

That’s amazing! I love this kind of phenomenon. It would have been extra special to see it in person.

Super cool! I’m glad it arrived unharmed! Took a while, but I’m glad it’s with you now! Woot woot!

No worries at all, I totally respect that! I just didn’t know your situation and was worried about a misunderstanding. I’ll roll again for another winner!

@katpick.bsky.social - I still haven’t heard from you! Please send me an email at abyssowlart@gmail.com if you want to claim the art.

This features so many things that I love! A witch, ruins, a magical animal, and adventure! What actually sucks is that art like this has to compete with AI and algorithms, but your art is awesome.

A couple quick things: For some reason there is a tooltip showing "Untitled" when I hover over the character on the main page. I also would probably add as many character design examples as you can when people reach the "Characters" page if you have more.

To highlight community links like Discord and your Ko-Fi, the only thing that comes to mind for me would be to make them larger and perhaps utilize icons to help direct the eye. A speech bubble or the Discord logo for your server and a shopping cart or shopping bag icon for your shop may help!

I've heard advice from some in the entertainment industry that those who are reviewing a professional site don't have much time, so the faster they can see your work, the better. Given all the things you want to display on your site, I'm not sure the best solution to that particular challenge.

110

AbyssOwl Art (Comms Open!) @abyssowl.bsky.social · 05/02/2026

Thank you! It's awesome to know folks like what I am making.

010

AbyssOwl Art (Comms Open!) @abyssowl.bsky.social · 05/02/2026

To clarify, the artwork would be a new painting (not the rabbit pictured here) very small in size, probably less than 4 inches in any direction, to make it easy to send! It'll likely be mixed media (acrylic + gouache + other random stuff) on heavy illustration paper. Cheers!

I have over 100 followers here on bsky now! Thanks so much to everyone who has followed me! To celebrate, I'll run a tiny giveaway! I'll select a random follower who likes and shares this post and send them a small original painting. #giveaway #celebration #artgiveaway #thankyou #art #painting

I took a look at it! Personally, I really like the general aesthetic, the colors and layering look nice. I like that there are clear links to all socials on the left, but what to do with the rest likely depends a lot on what you'd like to accomplish with the portfolio. Is it to get hired by studios?

I especially like the second, with that metal cage thing. Really nice!

I say go for it! Every now and again I’ll pick up something like that which I haven’t done in a while and it always feels good.

I’ve surfed from article to article before, and unlike normal doomscrolling, didn’t feel as though my time was entirely wasted, so this feels like a nifty idea!

Yesss, that was actually an accident but when I saw it I thought it was too cool to fix.

I participated in this, and going in I was really confident I'd be able to discern human-made music from machines... That confidence was drained pretty fast when I started listening to samples and second-guessing all my choices.

Always liked the way this creature design came out! Wonder if I should clean it up and make it a full illustration and not just a sketch. #art #drawing #sketchbook #creature #fantasy #cryptid #deity

Love that it's a mix of cute and creepy! And the texture along the back is really nice.

Thought this would work nicely as an isometric pixel art character!

This is really relaxing to look at. You nailed the gentle nature of the cloud formations, I think

Your OC is SO curvy! Nice gesture in the character. Here is one of my very few OCs, named Aradyn!

I've recently applied to have my work hosted at a local gallery! To celebrate my enthusiasm whether I am approved or not, I'd like to share some of that work here! #oilpainting #traditionalart #fineart #acrylicpainting #art #painting #artwork #gouachepainting

A mixed-media painting of a simplified and stylized white rabbit jumping through space, with a silver disc behind it, and various shapes such as stars, dots, and lines that create a sense of motion.

An acrylic painting of a tall and imposing peak, painted in bright colors, with vibrant blue, green, and yellow features. Rolling clouds radiate out from the center of the peak, and several tall mountains can be seen in the distance.

A gouache painting of a mesa in the desert, with a bright blue sky and vibrant hues depicting the rock faces. The stone plateau is contrasted both in dark and light aginst the blue sky.

This is really cool! Lately I have been finding it really difficult to nail small details in my traditional art (though I have been working with oil and acrylic and not watercolor), so this is inspiring to see!

AbyssOwl Art (Comms Open!) @abyssowl.bsky.social · 17/11/2025

The different twisting shapes to form the base and the shape and angles of the branches are really nice! I find trees to be both challenging and fun to paint, and you did a really nice job.

An older drawing that I am very proud of! I made this to challenge myself to make art that has the quality and style expected of an artist making icons for Bloodborne. I am available for work! Please reach out if interested! . . #art #artwork #digitalart #digitalpainting #bloodborne #gameart

A digital painting of a disgusting old skull, which still has some skin on it, and appears to be infected by various parasites and tentacles. The skull exhibits various anomalies in structure, misshapen and malformed by dark magic.

Another closeup of the grotesque skull, detailing the right eyesocket.

Yet another crop, this time showing the details in the tentacles on the bottom.
