iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

listening to the preface and I am already emotional😭😭😭

From RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me exhibition.

Hello guys. My name is RM. I'm the leader of the group called BTS, and my Korean name is Kim Namjoon, and I'm a 31-year-old from South Korea. This exhibition is called RM SFMOMA, but, you know, it's about my personal things – so I prefer to be called as Namjoon. Or you could call me Joon, like, if it's too long.

It feels like I'm already in the space and I could see the people, like waiting in line. What I always looking forward to is… I don't know how, what it's called in English, but it's, it's ‘seollem’ in Korean.
How do you say in English? Butterflies? That sounds really romantic, but more of a like, um, you know, like expectations, for like what's

wow apparently Namjoon held an anonymous exhibition 3 years ago in Korea!

a room introduction from RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me exhibition!

FRIEND SCAPE 친구가 있는 풍경

There's a saying, "A dog is man's best friend."

But is that really only true of dogs? Animals, in general, are that kind of presence for us.

Three years ago, when I held an anonymous exhibition in Korea, the spot where visitors lingered the longest was in front of a cat painting made by an unknown artist one to two centuries ago.

"Cuteness saves the world!"
There's also a saying like this in Korea.

I wasn't exactly resolved to save
the world, but as I looked for
friends to keep me company,
cute animals naturally gathered.

It's so Namjoon to have a section in his exhibition named "i don't know but i like it" In a time where there is a strong need to explain why you like something or you have to see yourself in it to justify liking something, he created space for that undefined reason. Liking something just because💜

i don't know.. but i like it 말로 설명은 안 되는데, 좋아.

Sometimes you just like something,
and you're not really sure why.

I was asked to explain it, so I tried,
but it didn't convey very well.
So I just made a room instead.

There is no grand reason behind
what's here. They're simply things I like.

But when you think about it, that's how everyone lives. A captured image, a sentence that passed by, a playlist for working out, a strangely shaped pebble picked up from the beach...

A feed, a drawer, even a corner of the heart are all, in the end,
just each person's own small exhibition.

“I don't know why, I just like it.”

And honestly, that's enough.

when I hear people talk about how some music artists don't change their genre or they don't have growth over the year, I feel grateful that there are artists like BTS who aren't afraid of trying something new and experimental. Arirang was created in a unique way because it was time sensitive. +
