That makes it even worse, so they sold out so as not to damage Polanski’s chances of becoming an MP. Who would vote for any of them knowing they so easily wave aside their principles🤯

Especially as reform won’t let him stand for election🤣🤣🤣🤣

I got an email asking the same this morning. I cancelled my membership in July but when I retired I started paying my membership yearly so it ran until end of September. Bit cheeky to ask me to rejoin 2 weeks after especially knowing the email I sent with the cancellation request😂

Agreed, but to be fair to Sagal, reform had been trying to rile up the racist mob to vote against her, so I’m pleased she won with only a slightly reduced minority. Good to see reform and Tories losing ground, albeit not as must as I’d have liked them to.

I’m a Labour supporter and very pleased Polanski came a distant 2nd. But I don’t understand why you say greens should be concerned voters are returning to Labour when Labour vote dropped and Green increased by similar amounts.

Denise @abusefreezone.bsky.social · 12h
It only rose by 3.5% that’s not a massive increase especially as they have been campaigning hard and it was their chance to get their leader into parliament.

Denise @abusefreezone.bsky.social · 12h
That’s a good result for Labour

The Labour vote dropped and greens increased by similar amounts, why would greens think voters had returned to Labour?

Denise @abusefreezone.bsky.social · 12h
Interesting that despite the low turn out reform/conservative vote only dropped by 0.2% and 0.1%, Labours vote dropped 3.7% while greens went up 3.5%. Any drop in reform/tory vote is good IMO but it it’s not a resounding win for Labour.

Hope the Burnham/PLP aren’t listening, Goodwin is just trying to fool them into calling an early election.😏

I believe her husband is a member family that owned the Pochin Construction Family. Pochin went into administration in 2019 reportedly due to …….. BREXIT😂😂😂😂

Same here, I did take a few to a local charity but still have far too many. I’m far too sentimental so I just bought another free standing larder cupboard and filled that up too😳

Normal men worry when their partners/daughters go out alone, not about attacks by migrants but being caught up in random violence/having drinks spiked/being sexually assaulted. They worry because they know the same thugs that are out attacking migrants are also drunk in city centres every weekend

Me too, gov figures show there were 974 homeless deaths in 2025 but charities say the number of was over 1,750. Lives lost mainly due to cuts to services for mental health/addiction and loss of social housing. Even if he doesn’t achieve his target any focus on homelessness is welcome.

Imagine being piers Morgan and believing people would pay to watch/listen to you🤣. You just know his mum told him he was a “very clever boy” when he was a child and unlike normal people he believed her

I read the Spectator article about the involvement of Man City owners in the development of No10 North site. If it’s true (I hope not) it’s obvious why he would be concerned if they left Man City. I expected to see more in the papers today, but remarkably quiet😏

When I was still working, the local cafe, were I picked up a coffee, let a young homeless guy use their loos to get washed in. I often bought him breakfast and had a chat, he said similar but also that lots use drugs (I’m sure he did) and could be aggressive and it scared him. He preferred his tent

He said every rough sleeper in England will be offered accommodation this winter, whether he means a bed for the night or a “home” for the winter it’s still a big task. Poor mental health is a reason many are on the streets, shelters can be noisy even violent places, not the safe haven many need

He was trying to set the precedent, he was going to tighten the rules on declarations so needed to be whiter than white. Unfortunately leading by example didn’t work 🤯

Yes, but giving flu jabs was not part of his promise to end homelessness by Christmas. I agree that Labour are always better on this than any other party. It will be fantastic if AB manages to house all homeless, as he says, but I think it will be very difficult. But I applaud the aim.

Another u turn by Burnham. I thought we were forging ahead with a property tax to replace SDLT and council tax 🤯

Cue Burnham saying he’d be concerned if Man City owners were to pull out of the club as they invested a huge amount I n Manchester. Watch this space, let’s see what the penalties are 🤔

Denise @abusefreezone.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
This is great but just to clarify this was published in June 26, to start in this cycle of flu jabs. Absolutely nothing to do with Andy Burnham ending homelessness.

Denise @abusefreezone.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
The media refused to publish plan and the PLP failed to do their jobs amplifying the policies, in some cases they actively undermined them. How many MPs are now posting policies, put in place under Starmer but claiming they are Burnham’s work. I want Labour to succeed but I won’t champion AB.

Denise @abusefreezone.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
I know the rules, but to avoid the vote all the other potential candidates stood down. Streeting/Jones were both “spoken” to.
000
Denise @abusefreezone.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
I agree, but they made it all about personality with Starmer. As Labour member I voted against AB twice in his previous leadership bids. He is still that same person, riding on the coat tails of others. So desperate to get the job he made sure members didn’t get a vote this time🤷‍♀️.

Denise @abusefreezone.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
Starmer had a 10yrs plan with the NCS in it and it was working. I was a Labour member for nearly 50 yrs, I cancelled my membership after the despicable behaviour of AB/PLP. I have given Burnham about the same time he and PLP gave Starmer.
