These are the fossils of the Dawn Redwood, Metasequoia. These plants thrived in the Late Cretaceous swamps and deltas of Alberta. Notably, there's a living species of this genus! #palaeontology #paleontology #fossilfriday #fossils #plants #alberta

We had an amazing lineup of speakers at the recent Paleo 2026 symposium! We had talks on Devonian fish all the way to Eocene plants and insects and from cryptic ichnofossils to new imaging techniques. What an amazing time! #palaeontology #paleontology #fossils #dinosaurs #fish #alberta
