I don't entirely dislike the new x1 ninja charger But I'll be honest this could have at least had a Kai's golden dragon raider amount of minifigures to justify the immense price At least it looks significantly better than the 2021 version, not that it's an especially high bar

Well I wasn't expecting a new weekend whip and whilst there was a bit of noticible autotune (which tbh is an inevitability when getting a cast of VAs to sing), it was still quite fun to listen to, but more than that the visuals were sublime, I love you core suits, and it's nice to see some old faces

Further there's the crystallised wu dragon armour used outside of the whole dragon master armour and the tan elements and knee pads similar to the fugitive suits (They do also all use gold but I don't actually like the golden crystallised suits)

I really like the ghost hunter suits and in a way they feel kitbashed from some of my favourite elements from the past 5 years like the elemental flair and more regular clothing elements of the core suits, the headband/merge style shoulder combo from Nya and Kai in the dragon stone shrine

My only real problem with the ZX suits is Jay's grey arm in minifigure form, also these did just get a lovely upgrade thar looks better in every way even despite the universal gold

Honestly i think the DX ninja suits have probably aged the best from the original run of ninjago (pilot-s3) imo, even despite an overall lack of much hinting that these are actually robes in the printing, the dragon detailing is so impressive that they pull ahead regardless

I deeply regret missing out on the temple of the crystal king, unfortunately despite the fugitive suits it was not as much of a looker as the core wave 1 dojo temple at the time (though this was cheaper)

The comparison between 70738 final flight of destiny's bounty and 41848 temple bounty is so interesting because at a conceptual level they're both the largest show sets in their wave, they're both from ghost waves, they're both the biggest bounties at time of release

Yes I know that it was only the second bounty but in the brief period between it's release and that of the temple of airjitzu, it was the biggest ever ninjago set so it counts

It's a shame Pixal wasn't in any sets in 2019, 2020 and 2021 because I think she really could have benefited from a new design to fit with the s11 ninja or even a new design to compliment or match Nya's when she became samurai X in crystallised

Honestly I think a big qualm I have with the storm suits is their environments, they're very high concept and high detail in places that just don't really match that like the crossroads and the world forest

Okay nevermind the pt1 aesthetics are growing on me, the storm suits definitely have charm and the red versions of the dragonians are pretty good, I still kinda prefer spectral thunderfang but he doesn't have a set so it's no contest really

S3 p2 was great, the plot arrives alot sooner and Jay being present as a character is very nice, also the designs are much better all round, the spectral dragonians look better, spectral thunderfang looks better, the new robes for the ninja look great, just a shame Zane never got to wear it
