I mentioned this poem in a radio interview I did just half an hour ago in answer to a question about advice to new writers. My answer was don’t wait for inspiration to find you. It’s got a very poor sense of direction. Just turn up to work and ‘dig’.

This is Dexter. He is 7 months old. He came to us from Romania early in September. Previously, he has lived only in shelters so he has a lot of learning to do but he’s a very good boi.
