You might think that the reason we don't have VCRs anymore is because VCRs were supplanted by DVDs, PVRs and streaming, but that's not the case. So to take an image of a moment in time in the fraction of a second of a shutter click feels right, regardless of how long the image you're capturing took to create, or make.
