Despite what Johnson was hearing from his constituents, he voted AGAINST the bill. TL;DR: He knows tariffs are hurting WI businesses, he had a chance to do something about it (literally- his vote, or any Republican's vote, would have swung the outcome to a 50-48 YES), and he chose not to. 3/

The vote on this bill ended with a tie, 49-49. Vance cast the tie-breaking NO vote. Yesterday, Ron Johnson appeared on Fox News and said, "I'm hearing an awful lot from manufacturers in Wisconsin that if this thing drags on, if tariffs remain high, their businesses will be put out of business." 2/

On Wednesday, the bi-partisan team of Rand Paul and Ron Wyden sponsored a resolution to end Donald Trump's "national trade emergency". This would have put trade and tariff decisions back under the control of Congress. The Executive Branch only has control of tariffs in emergency situations. 1/

Talk to school psychologists who worked in public schools in the 70s. They'll tell you where the kids w/ autism were before schools were required to educate kids w/ disabilities- stories of children w/disabilities going to school for the 1st time at 15 or 16 years old.
