Throughout his campaign, Schutz sought Trump's endorsement and said he wanted the White House to "play a role in this race." If that wasn't enough, Schutz chaired the board of the Center of the American Experiment (CAE), a far-right, extreme think tank in Minnesota.

When asked previously whether he would challenge Trump, Schutz said he could not “answer in the abstract,” and said he doubted Trump would take “some action that would be blatantly illegal.”

Meanwhile, Attorney General Keith Ellison won 45 lawsuits against the Trump administration for illegal actions against Minnesotans. Those lawsuits have kept more than $7.3 billion of Trump's attempted cuts to federal funding to Minnesota flowing. Schutz called those efforts "political theater."

We've seen the harm caused when people are denied their bodily autonomy. Since the overturning of Roe V. Wade, Minnesota's seen an increase in out-of-state abortions. However, conservative Lisa Demuth would bring her anti-choice extremism to our state. She's already tried.
