People who insist that government be run like private companies are fools. The purpose and scope of the two are vastly different. Private companies have a very narrow charter. Government must deal with ANY problem that crops up, and supply wages to people that help society function properly.

Heavy reliance on immigrant engineers and scientists has been the case for the last 30 years. If you look at history, Reagan began the destruction of funding for USA born talent. It took around a decade for that to set in, roughly the mid-90s. Since the mid 90s, things have only gotten worse.
