31 Days of Halloween 80s Edition Day 1 - The Fog (1980) While it's a bit more slowly paced than some of Carpenters other output, The Fog is nevertheless a perfect coastal ghost story and an excellent way to ease yourself into the spooky season! 7 1/2 / 10 pumpkins 🎃

I'm fleshing out the city of San Diego for my current and future VtM Chronicles so I've made a list of the major neighborhoods and locations and I'm trying to make a plot hook or two for each one.

1. The Casbah is a storied venue for punk rock and other similar acts in San Diego. It's also incredibly haunted. Back in 1987 a local Metal act named NailGun died in what was ruled by police as a ritual murder/suicicde pact. This shocking bit of news went under the radar as nobody cared about NailGun since their music sucked.

Unbeknownst to everyone, the band members actually killed each other in The Casbah's Green Room fighting over a woman named Juanita, whom they were all in love with. Juanita is actually a succubus-like creature who feeds off the torment of the band members Wraiths to this day and is thinking about doing it again.

Making notes and writing for my Cam VtM game's grand finale on Sunday. Trying to make things action packed so we hopefully end on a bang.

The text reads - Kevin Jackson is there flanked by four of his guard-ghouls in their black armani suits, armed with sub machine guns. Their clothing whips to and fro from the wind at this high elevation. From your vantage point you can see the enormity of Lake Michigan, which seems to stretch on forever, and the beautiful city of Chicago. Plumes of smoke are rising into the air from various points throughout the city, and it looks like it's a warzone down there.

You all hear the sound of a helicopter and you see as it approaches that it's a coast guard rescue chopper. Prince Jackson says, “That's our ride!” Just then a remote controlled airplane buzzes you all, flying just over your heads. It zips through the air towards its target and KABOOM collides with the helio in a huge explosion. You all watch as the fiery wreckage streaks down towards the ground.

So I saw this news article that said the band Quiet Riot, which originally formed in 1973, has hired a 23 year old lead singer. This begs the question - when does it cease to be a band and it instead becomes a BRAND. Like, can a popular band just go on forever is they keep replacing their members?

Now watching Subspecies 3! Subspecies 2 and 3 were filmed back to back and imo it's my favorite thing that Full Moon Entertainment ever did. The Vampire Radu is a great villain and it's a good vampiric corruption story, which I'm all about because of reasons

Now watching Scream Blackula Scream (1973). Not quite as good as the first movie but still a fun watch! William Marshall and Pam Grier are both great and the climax is awesome in that 1970s grindhouse kinda way 🦇

Rewatching Blackula (1971) while I cook. William Marshall totally elevates the material, but that being said the material is pretty good to begin with. There's some unfortunate gay stereotypes but the film is a product of it's time what can ya do. The sequel is underrated! 🦇

Watching The Beast and The Magic Sword, the only Paul Nashy werewolf film of his I've yet to experience. It's a two hour movie so it's a little slow going but whatdaya want, it's a Spanish-Japanese co-production classic!
