Given how respectful and diverse ST has always been, maybe cut them a bit of a break with this? It will improve over time but look at how many 'firsts' ST has achieved and continues to do. So much better than Star Wars which is teen level at best and full of sand planets.

I remember reading Stephen King's IT when it first came out in the 80s. Yes, the story was fascinating, but at times, the writing was so superb I would reread it several times just to soak it in. ChatGPT would write such a story in 10,000 words, and it would be boring.

Enjoyed it thoroughly and have watched it many times. the problem was that it came right after the best ST movie ever - First Contact - and that was a hard act to follow. But it is still better than ANY of the star wars movies after the first three.

Before some of you bag ST think of the mess that Star Wars has become. Three great movies. Then a few mediocre but watchable movies, & then their series... they were abysmal apart from The Mandalorian. Ashoka has to be the very worst with the 'hero' actually doing the thing they were trying to stop.
