Okay. I can’t put into words my feelings toward such a day- today marks one year since I was evacuated to Ireland. This long trip for deadass changed me drastically, both my weight and mindset.

Abdallah Aljazzar: From asking for a cigarette to seeking asylum — my journey from Gaza to Ireland
Living in a tent and surviving rocket attacks was my ordinary a year ago, but now ordinary is a lovely day in West Cork, while my family endures the daily horrors of life in Gaza

Just dropped a piece in @irishexaminer.bsky.social Surviving Gaza and carrying stuff you can’t really put into words. Being “safe” but never really feeling safe. Big thanks to @maynoothuniversity.ie for the support along the way. www.irishexaminer.com/opinion/comm...

Every Gazan student in Ireland is haunted by what they cannot express
We are like children in the dark, feeling for another being made of flesh and not just a ghost. We tell each other without words: You are still here, writes Abdallah Aljazzar

My Diary of a homesick Gazan abroad. In Ireland, I am alive and safe. But survival feels hollow without the people, places, and routines that once sustained me. @972mag.com www.972mag.com/diary-gaza-i...

"At night, I dream my brother Nour is looking for me. ‘I’m in Ireland, Habibi’ I say to him. ‘Everything is green and lovely'." MU Gaza Scholarship Initiative student @abunour.bsky.social wrote a piece on leaving Gaza for Ireland in the Weekend Irish Times. www.irishtimes.com/opinion/2025...
A young person stands smiling, wearing a green Maynooth University hoodie and a backpack, leaning against a stone ledge. In the background, there is a glass building with the words "Ollscoil Mhá Nuad" prominently displayed. Several blurred figures walk by on the sidewalk.

In Gaza, food drops come with fear, not relief. My latest for Truthout: Aid has become a tracking device—delivered by drones, watched by guns. 🔗 truthout.org/articles/in-gaza-aid-is-a-tracking-device-distributed-by-people-with-guns-and-drones

In Gaza, Aid Is a Tracking Device Distributed by People With Guns and Drones
Hunger in Gaza isn’t accidental — it’s managed. It’s enforced. And now, aid is being militarized.

We’re called men, but we cry like boys. We bury like fathers, though we’re still just sons. This is what masculinity looks like in Gaza. I lived it. I wrote it. 🔗 www.972mag.com/gaza-men-mas...

The tears of Gaza’s men are an act of rebellion
Gaza is birthing a new kind of masculinity — based not on militarism or stoicism but on moral clarity and dignity, even in starvation.
