#revpitwaiting Missed a few of these (been sick), gotta catch up Among Us inspi' Sci-Fi Horror A last ditch space expedition is thrown together to save a dying Earth using resources from an abandoned underwater planet, but a sabotaged ship and shapeshifting goop monster onboard hijack the mission 👀

Photo collage for a work in progress sci-fi horror book. Text reads: Imposters Among Us. There are nine pictures, some of space (planets, stars, galaxy), some of black goop (on hands, dripping in water, etc.), some of faces (one pointing, another looks ghostly), and one of a dark underwater image.

Day 5 #revpitwaiting #revpit Hard to pick but I settled on one of my first few favorites in Act 1. For context, Alyss confronts the ex that's tasked with stopping her revenge.

Image shows text from a book snippet. It reads: He flashed a pocket knife. “I gotta take you back, Alyss. I’m sorry. We can still end this well.”
Her breath was a bitter laugh. “What are you gonna do with that?” She recognized a shallow threat when she heard one and stepped closer in his silence. Her fingers wrapped around his fist. “You don’t remember what you taught me? You pop it here.” She gently pushed the blade against her stomach, then angled it right under the ribs. “Or here.” She took the blade to her throat, gripping him tight as her eyes tore into his. “You want to stop me, that’s what it takes.”

Day 4 #revpitwaiting: Did I have 3 other moodboards I already made for my #revpit book I could've used? Yes. Did I make a 4th moodboard because it's fun and totally not an addiction? Also yes. I was trying to capture the vibe my book has of "pops of color in a dark gritty setting" 🤔

$Photo collage of a mix of images in either black and white or colorful blue, pink, and purple hues. Images include a close-up of a black panther's face, creepily posed hands with long nails, abstract patterns (one looks like balloons, some look like blurred colorful glitter, one looks like blue and purple smoke, and one looks like a fractal diamond), a teddy bear, wilted flowers, broken glass, one close up image of a black woman's face with eyes closed and eye make-up, one image of a black woman with purple braids throwing her hair back with a smile, and an image of people partying under colorful lights. There is text reading "The Macabre Murders of Alyss Mitchell" at the center.$

Day 3 #Revpitwaiting: Meet Alyss! She's a 26-year-old black American with Trinidadian roots. Part party-girl, part hitman with a machete, she's a disaster and a half, and I love her 😭

A character collage for Alyss Mitchell with text. Photo 1: a black woman with purple braids; Photo 2: a dancing crowd; Photo 3: a couple kissing; Photo 4: model wearing a denim outfit, opening denim jacket to reveal black crop top; Photo 5: a group of people (hands only shown) toasting drinks. There are also two small white mushrooms overlaying the center of the photos. An excerpt at the bottom displays a narrative about partying, alcohol, and self-perception.
