I’m on my church’s board. We do pay property tax on the house that we rent out …we just lost our tenant, so the deficit is scary. But we barely balance the books in a good year.

What would you tax exactly? I’m not saying you’re wrong. Would you treat all. Donations as income?

So many institutions, not just government, but non-profits appear to be following that playbook too.

I did not know she was sick! That’s awful - too young.

Yes - Gene Robinson of NH presided at the service with het, but she’s the one who made the offer.

So disappointed in her for so many reasons. I’d like to work on organizing for a better candidate next time around.

I’m just worried that it will be too hard to go after them, and I hate that.

I live in one. They say that by continuing this call you consent to being recorded. Or the hospital farms it out to someone out of state and figures you won’t bother to sue.

There is a new Medicare program intended to expand the use of remote monitoring solutions. The margins per beneficiary are pretty low, so I heard a company suggest that many of the independent tech companies were going to be using AI bots to call Seniors to encourage them to sign up. Seems bad.

I’m really uncomfortable with 7, because I want to discourage the construction of single-family homes and support multi-family housing.

I’m beyond pro pedestrian and have been for 40 years, but I really dislike cameras for enforcement on privacy and civil liberties grounds and would prefer to modify the streetscape to discourage the behavior.

Biden could never be as cool as Mamdani though.

Now it happened to be (after my parents moved and were no longer in PACE) that my Dad’s values turned out to be: do every last thing to keep me alive as long as possible no matter how many times I have to go to the hospital…

000

abbyannv.bsky.social @abbyannv.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

My parents were in PACE for a while, and it did not work out for complex and challenging reasons, but I really liked that they were able to provide generous palliative care and hospice-type services without the patient having to sign up for HOSPICE.

This summer I got my Shingrix doses. I’m hopeful that I’ll never get shingles with this combo.

I paid out of pocket for a chicken pox vaccine at 28 (student heath documented zostavax. Hmmm). I had a titre at 38 for a job which showed no antibodies, so I got 2 doses of Varivax.

It’s legal in much of New England and was legal in MA until we had a referendum. I don’t know how many people in prison actually exercise their right though.

YES. But we need some more charisma too.

I get that. But if all drones, including Amazon ones, are banned in your area, it’s easier to go after the other corporate ones.

You have Amazon delivery drones? The towns near me banned those.

I can't criticize her for that choice - especially since she had watched her husband die in terrible pain.

abbyannv.bsky.social @abbyannv.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

I only know one person who pursued this -My husband’s great aunt. She was in a lot of physical pain from a new cancer diagnosis and not expected to ever leave the hospital. She had just had a big party at home to celebrate her 100th birthday. Most people don’t live that long, and she felt ready.

Make it a crime for US citizens, residents and institutions to exchange or hold crypto assets. Make it illegal for US data centers to Provide energy or computers to mine crypto. Negotiate treaties with liberal countries to do the same. The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act regulates

I mean, if that’s something you want -then great- our plumber had a great high school student apprentice, and she got a job for a sewer system in central MA, but yeah, the people pushing it are disingenuous.

abbyannv.bsky.social @abbyannv.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Why can’t you just make crypto illegal? They have no legitimate use and are a threat to the sovereignty of nation states.

abbyannv.bsky.social @abbyannv.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

I absolutely agree with the density argument. If you said they had to be multifamily units, I’d fully support it. It’s the single family home part, I don’t like.

Can you elaborate on your support for 6? See my question above.

Can you elaborate on 7? I want more housing, but I also want to maintain green space, so I would really prefer to discourage the construction of new single-family homes.

A job interview sure. I think coffee is ok in a meeting if it’s people you work with regularly. Before covid and tighter budgets, coffee used to be served at early morning meetings.

I was explaining this to a friend who lived here in his 20’s who is now in Texas but grew up as a liberal-ish Democrat in small town Georgia. At the local level all the Democrats turn into Republicans - it’s just a giant race to the bottom.

I get Novavax for the same reason. My very limited understanding is that the initial immune response is a bit lower, but it’s also somewhat more durable. But really, ask someone who knows what they’re talking about.
