Super excited to witness this project coming to fruition! I was part of the initial pilot project that recruited ~60 participants. I can imagine the amount of work to recruit over 500 participants during the COVID years! Super impressed that @abarad.bsky.social and Kimberly got it done!

Most hearts have right dominant coronary anatomy but some have left. Why? Is it random? When/how is dominance established? Now out in @cellpress.bsky.social, the 1st GWAS of coronary dominance + experiments implicating CXCL12 as a driver of human coronary patterning! www.cell.com/cell/fulltex...
Visual abstract illustrating coronary artery dominance, phenotyping using angiograms, GWAS, and downstream studies of human and mouse hearts.

Excited to share findings from my PhD work published in AJCN! As Dr. Hennigar noted in his editorial—“Findings from this study reframe how we think about dietary Fe requirements and build evidence for more precise Fe intake and supplementation guidelines”. Links below!👇 @nutritionorg.bsky.social
