Convention artists, help settle a debate: How do these booth prices compare to your 'big' events where you are? This is for an event in Paris. "TTC" means tax included, but there's other fees not shown. Each booth comes with a table, 2 chairs, 2 exhibitor passes, and a grid backdrop behind you.

I'll note that it seems my panel has support beams behind it so normal hooks couldn't pass through the holes in the peg board, so my pieces are sticking about a bit, but they will lay flat on your wall art home! All pieces are flat on the back with normal hooks. #ef #artshow #eurofurence

"Lunar Hare" I love working in diagonal format but don't always know how to use it. I leaned into the same 'cropped portrait' idea from my lynx drawing and did a zoomed in hare drawing, the ears pulling upward and the moon phases pulling sideways in the composition. #art #furryart #fantasyart

An acrylic marker drawing on a diagonally-oriented square block of MDF board, showing a teal hare face with yellow eyes against a dark blue backdrop with glittery stars on it. The hare's ears take up most of the canvas, and a series of lunar phases stretches horizontally across the middle. Glitter pens are used for accents.

"Sailor's Delight" What's an Abandon Ambition art show panel without some skeletal capricorns? I had fun figuring out how to create this scene with my limited color options! #art #capricorn #darkart #fantasyart

An acrylic marker drawing on a block of MDF board showing a skeletal capricorn partially emerging from the water, with mountains or hills and a gray sky in the background. There is a pinkish red crescent moon in the middle, with the same color reflected in the water and on part of the capricorn. The capricorn also has some black hair draped over its form and floating in the water around it.

"Lynx" This one did NOT want to photograph well because of its vibrant colors, but please check it out in person at #EF! Some delightful lynx fursuits I saw at Awoostria inspired me to make a colorful one with my acrylic set. Indulging in my Lisa Frank side. #art #animalart #furryart

An acrylic marker drawing on a square MDF board featuring a purple lynx head on a pale green background. The framing has the head cropped just above the nose. The lynx has purple fur, but green eyes and a green nose.

"Actually, this is not fine" I'm most in love with this one and almost didn't want to surrender it to the #art show! Burning, scorched animal skeletons have become a recurring theme in my art with all the heat waves and drought we're experiencing in the EU. #climateart #darkart #fantasyart

An acrylic marker drawing showing a black canine skeleton engulfed in orange flames, its head tilted upward toward the sky. The sky is bright yellow with a pale yellow sun, and the ground is a pale orange. The sky is full of embers and waves suggesting active fire and heat.

"Prey for Rain" This is the first one I did, so I was mostly getting familiar with this new marker set. I love the concept and will probably revisit it in another medium, but it didn't 100% turn out how I imagined in this tiny canvas with limited color choices. #climateart #animalart #acrylic

An acrylic marker drawing of a coyote carrying a hare in its mouth and trotting across a barren land. There is a dead tree in the background and dead thorny bushes all around. The sky is a pale yellow with a light yellow sun in the middle. The hare is a blue shade and instead of blood it is dripping blue water as the coyote carries it along.

🧵 Here's all the acrylic marker drawings on MDF board I made for the #ef #eurofurence #art show. I love how these came out! We're about to move house and had to do some DIY upgrades before selling our current home, and had some spare MDF board pieces and primer. They're excellent mini art canvases!

Was looking for something else and found this old diary entry of mine from 2008 and...holy shit, what a life. That "I can't understand why they didn't have a better time" is hitting me so hard for reasons I can't articulate.

Picture of text, with this section highlighted: "But anyhow, I took my shoes off when we got to the playing field and ran around on the wet sand that looked and felt like warm dog shit between my toes. We walked down to the lake and [redacted name] and [redacted name] complained about shit, until [redacted name] hit the ball into the lake and we sullenly watched it float away. We sat on the cement levels drinking lukewarm beers in the rain, and I loved it. I love being in the rain. I can't understand why they didn't have a better time."

Me sketching from a reference photo on a tiny canvas

Photo of comedian John Mulaney telling his joke about writing out a birthday sign. Text: We've all gone too big too fast and run out of room. We've all made a "Happy Birthday" sign. You get that poster board up, and you're like, "I don't need to trace it. I know how big letters should be." To begin with, a big-ass 'H.'

A photo of a square piece of MDF board upon which is painted a black skeletal dog that is on fire. The sky, ground, and sun are all different shades of yellow or light orange. There are wavy lines around the sun suggesting heat.

"Prey for Rain" Acrylic markers on reclaimed MDF board #art #animalart #climateart

A square wood canvas on which is painted a coyote running through a desert with a dead hare in its mouth. The coyote and environment are painted in dull, warm colors, and all the trees and bushes have no leaves on them. The hare is painted in blue colors, and instead of blood, blue rain-like drops fall from its body as the coyote runs along.

Literally happened recently, I don't use Facebook anymore but need to check it for local events and issues, and saw an ad for an event I was formerly interested in but the flyer was clearly AI. I wrote "if your flyer is AI, I'm not going" and they essentially complained about not having art budget.

Screenshot of a Facebook conversation in French. The first comment says, "Si l'affiche utilise l'IA, je ne vais pas y aller" (If the poster uses AI, I'm not going to go see it), and the response reads "Bonjour, merci beaucoup pour votre commentaire. Cela nous chagrine également. Cette édition est la première de la nouvelle association/équipe. Nous essayons de faire au mieux avec des moyens limités et cette année, nous avons fait de cette manière. Nous espérons, pouvoir, bientôt faire appel à un.e graphiste" (Hello, thank you very much for your comment. We’re disappointed about this, too. This is the first edition organized by the new association/team. We’re doing our best with limited resources, and this is how we handled it this year. We hope to be able to hire a graphic designer soon.)

Here's a closer look at the other watercolor drawing I shared at Awoostria. I am still learning how to use watercolors, and while there's a lot of things I wish I knew how to do better for this one, I'm still overall pretty happy with how it came out. #watercolor #art #animalart

A watercolor drawing of a boar sniffing at some mushrooms in a forest. The sky is tinted yellow, so there's an overall warm hue.

I'm not the best at watercolors, but I'm learning. I've also explored this theme in posca markers, too. The heat is really scary for me. I haven't been sleeping well and I'm very behind on my work. I'm sad about this, but it can't change. #art #animalart #furryart #watercolor #acrylic
