Thank you to everyone's positivity while we reimagine this event! We are excited to hear that by postponing our festivities, a lot more of you will be able to participate! Stayed tuned for the results of the survey. 💚💜🖤

Also please see our latest announcement for an update on the event. We're postponing it and turning it into something more engaging for all of us! We'll lay out these rules about tagging for the new event as well.

Apologizes for the delay! For any relationship that isn't alloromantic, use both, since the pairing & point of the work is their relationship, & some will be sexual but not romantic, or vice versa. Most importantly, add a tag like "QPR" to make the relationship type more clear!

💜 Aro & Ace Viktor & Jayce Announcement/Poll 💚 We've decided to re-imagine this event into either a Mini-Bang OR Gift Exchange that will post Pride 2026. Please read the announcement below! #jayvik #arcane Comment below or vote on Tumblr which option you want! www.tumblr.com/aavjweek/791...

Colorful announcement graphic with a header in white reading “Aro & Ace Viktor & Jayce Week” and a subhead in read reading, “Announcement!” The background is purple and is decorated with black, white, green, gray, and purple hearts and gears. Text below in black against a green background:

Hello our ace jayviklings! We come with an announcement. Unfortunately, because of the bulk of fandom weeks happening recently and the burnout we’ve all been feeling throughout the fandom, we have decided to re-imagine the Aro & Ace Viktor & Jayce project and postpone it to a later date.

We want to create an event that allows our fellow aces and aros to feel involved and engaged in a community project together, fostering more understanding of our different ace experiences and making connections!

In that spirit, we want to transform this event into EITHER an Aro & Ace Mini-Bang OR an Aro & Ace Gift Exchange that will launch Pride 2026. Both of these options allow us to interact more with each other and share our experiences. Vote on tumblr or comment below for your choice.

A teaser method is posting the tags & any necessary CWs, then either inserting a "read more" post cut (tumblr) and posting the work or link to the work beneath that, or posting the work/link in a comment to embed it in a thread (twt/bsky). We can't control which comments in a thread are reposted--

Hi everyone! Thanks for your patience while we put together an updated rule regarding "Dead Dove" content. We hope this update provides a more comprehensive rule, and clarifies any questions there may have been. 🫶🏻

Dead Doves: A History
What IS Dead Dove: Do Not Eat?
Great question! The Dead Dove: Do Not Eat tag is a traffic sign used to inform a viewer/reader that the tags following it will be explicitly included in the work being viewed/read. It is NOT a tag used to mean “This is a dark work”.

It’s from a moment in S1ep2 of Arrested Development, and came into use a little over a decade ago in fandom spaces. On the show, a character, Michael, sees a bag with “Dead Dove Do Not Eat” in his fridge. He opens it, sees a dead dove, and says “I don't know what I expected”. Thus, the tag’s meaning.

It can be used on all types of works, regardless of what they’re about, but it’s most often included on works that explore sensitive or “heavy” topics, as these works often require tags people need to pay attention to.

Purple and green infographic, reading:

DON’T OPEN THE BAG UNLESS YOU WANT TO EAT THE DOVE!

UPDATED 10TH JULY 2025

Due to a great question we received regarding “Dead Dove” content, and our goal to maintain anti-censorship while keeping this event inclusive for all, we’ve updated our rule for posting Dead Dove works.

As works tagged with “Dead Dove” can include difficult emotions, triggering subjects, and sometimes uncomfortable topics, we want to ensure people have the freedom to choose which works they engage with. Therefore, the topics on the following list MUST:

- be tagged with #deaddovedonoteat, #deaddove, or #dddne AND

- the appropriate tag from the topic list AND

- utilize a “teaser” method of posting. The tags must be included above the teaser.

Any works including a topic from the list that are not tagged and teased will be temporarily removed from the AAVJ Week collection with a request to the creator to repost with the tag and teaser.

DON’T OPEN THE BAG UNLESS YOU WANT TO SEE THE DOVE!

UPDATED CONTINUED

This list is not exhaustive and we reserve the right to add to it at any time. If you have questions regarding this please don’t hesitate to reach out!

- Age Play (must be clearly labeled ‘Play’)
- Cannibalism
- CNC (Consensual Non-Consent)
- Dubious-Consent
- Force Feeding
- Non-Consent/Rape
- Oviposition (Egg Pregnancy)
- Sex Pollen
- Somnophilia
- Stalking
- Tentacles
- Teratophilia/Monster Fucking
- Watersports/Omorashi

We hear your concerns, and appreciate the feedback! The mods are discussing & will post additional info that provides clarity on what constitutes DD for this event. We’ll hopefully have it posted later this week, early next at the latest.

I’m not certain we can cover every possible DD topic, as it can be subjective, but we can absolutely come up with an extensive list of examples that should be considered DD for this event!

STUCK ON AN IDEA? USE A PROMPT!
The mods have created a list of prompts split in themes tailored to each day for you to use as an inspiration list for your works. Please see the #aavjweekprompts list and check out the themes of each day of the event!

By the way…you are not required to use a prompt to participate! If you feel inspired, create and post on any day you like. Just be sure to use the tags so your work is included.
Also, we know it can be fun to create a work for every day of the event, but don’t stress yourself out! This is a free, for fun, fan run event that’s meant to encourage the celebration of aro and ace identities using our favorite characters. If you can only do one prompt for one day, we’re still thrilled to have you!

NO TIME? NO PROBLEM!
As there are a lot of incredibly fun fan events happening this year, we’re going to be leaving the AAVJ Week collection open indefinitely! Feel free to use any of the prompts to create a wo

DON’T OPEN THE BAG UNLESS YOU WANT TO SEE THE DOVE!
This event is “Dead Dove” friendly. This means that there may be works created that include or are exclusively about topics such as: suicidal thoughts or ideations, self harm, non- or dubious-consent, kinks, etc. The mods believe in anti-censorship and welcome any works that explore heavier themes. However, we do require for this event that:

All works including or about “Dead Dove” content be tagged as such, with #deaddove or #deaddovedonoteat being the first tag and followed by the appropriate explanatory tags and any other tags you want to include.

EG, if your work includes or centers around dealing with suicidal thoughts, you would need to tag it thus: #deaddove, #suicidalthoughts, #aavjweekSFW. If you’re uncertain if your work should have the “Dead Dove” tag, err on the side of yes, or reach out to a mod to check.
All Dead Dove works posted to social media must have a “read more”, “under t

Some rules for AAVJ Week 🧵 Our event is 18+ but we require strict tagging on socials: SFW posts must be tagged #aavjweekSFW NSFW posts must be tagged #aavjweekNSFW This helps those of us who are sex-repulsed (or otherwise uninterested) to curate their experience of #aavjweek 1/3

Purple and green infographic, reading:

MUST BE THIS OLD TO RIDE!
This event is strictly an 18+ event. We understand that there are minors in the aro/ace community, however, as the mods are over 18, this event is also geared towards adults over the age of 18 and may include adult-themed works. That said, please do not participate in this event if you are under the age of 18.”

TAG YOUR WORKS!
To respect the comfort levels of those within the community who may be sex repulsed, or would prefer to not see NSFW work for other reasons, there will be two separate tags for all created works: #aavjweekSFW & #aavjweekNSFW. There will also be two collections on AO3: AAVJ Week SFW & AAVJ Week NSFW. Please help us keep this event uplifting, encouraging, and community conscious by keeping all NSFW content within the AAVJ Week NSFW tag and collection, only, across all platforms.
For NSFW work, please be sure to also include any relevant and appropriate content warnings. If you’re wondering whether o
