Getting back into geometry node simulations. I set out to create an explosion. Then added a bit of force and noise, let the geometry live longer and the result looks more like a raging fire. #blender3d

Compilation of shaders is my only gripe with EEVEE. Otherwise I prefer it in every way to Cycles. Every time I touch a node in a shader tree it's a 10 second wait. Which adds up to minutes, hours. It's almost intolerable.

Had to back out of Vulcan to OpenGL. It's just way too slow with EEVEE. Touch a shader node (which I'm doing hundreds of times) and it's a long wait to recompile. A shame. I really liked the viewport performance and fast initial load. #b3d

Autokey Highlight is a must have #blender3d add-on. Puts a red outline around the viewport while auto keying is active. Saves you a river of tears when you blow up your animation because you forgot to turn auto keying off.

A probably little known fact about Flow that still blows my mind: There’s no compositing, according to @blender.org’s interview with @gintszilbalodis.bsky.social. What you see is a straight render from the shaders. A bit like recording a Grammy winning album with little to no mixing or mastering.
