Finally got around to properly processing my eclipse photo from April. Took me a few attempts to find a good way to blend the individual exposures, but I'm much happier with the result. Significantly better detail in the corona, and less noisy overall. New image on the left, old on the right.

A photo of the 2024 solar eclipse made from a composite of 5 separate exposures, showing detail in the corona.

I also enjoy doing astrophotography (whenever I get the opportunity). Here are a few examples!

Since there’s been such a huge influx of people, I figured I should make an intro post. Hey! I’m Aaron, a programmer at @doublefine.com, where I work on engine modifications, cameras, graphics, and whatever else needs to get done. Here’s a video showing the portals that I made for Psychonauts 2.

Sometimes I talk about game dev, sometimes I post space pictures. Here's one from earlier this week!

Drove up into the hills to get a view of comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS), along with its anti-tail! It’s drifting away from us now, but will still be visible for a few days - look for it in the western sky about an hour after sunset.

Due to a last minute change of plans I didn't have my full rig, but I still snapped some photos anyways. Hard to put into words, just wow.
