Harass me once, I’m happy to blur your contact details. Make a hobby out of it, and all bets are off. And my guess is you follow me on at least one social platform. Stalkers do creepy things like that. Stop being creepy, “Anthony.”

And just like that, on my 60th day of writing, this novel is finished. (Also, I nailed that target like Ted Lasso throwing darts.)

Gangs of wild turkey roaming the neighborhood, a President threatening to end a civilization, and April snow…I should probably just go back to bed.

I took a walk in the woods today. Pretty chuffed with these photos.
A trail in the woods, blocked by a fallen tree. A cluster of ferns covering the forest floor. A v-shaped tree standing in the forest, with a fallen tree caught horizontally in the space between. A large tree laying in a carpet of very low green foliage.

A few more shots from yesterday’s outing to see the site of Mercy Brown’s “vampire” exhumation ritual in 1892.
A gravestone marked with the name, birth date, and death date for Mercy Brown. The stone outbuilding used to store Mercy’s body after her death in January of 1892, and where the ritual exhumation of her remains most likely took place two months later. A view of the stone outbuilding in the distance, from directly beside Mercy’s gravestone (erected after he exhumation, obviously).

I’ve read that some bees see blues and purples better, so blue flowers tend to get more action from them. Here’s another similar flower…but I did t catch any bees in this one.

It was a long road to travel, but the view was more than worth it.
A long, winding road stretching off into the distance over rolling green hills surrounded by the mountains of Scotland. Miles and miles of green hills and valleys, all covered with heather, rocks, and the occasional sheep. Thank you Scotland for being so stunning.

OK Edinburgh, you won me over with “Frankenstein-themed pub”. Although the other patrons seem a bit ominous.

I also had morning coffee with a powerhouse of a talent. From Greatest Showman to Wicked and more, Keala has no equal. And just minutes into our chat, we both realized we are kindred spirits who should have met years ago. ❤️

From my visit to Bath yesterday.
Interior shot of the Roman bath in the English city of Bath. The water, shaped like a modern swimming pool, is green, and it’s surrounded by pillars with an open sky above. A close-up shot of some mosaic tile art from the Roman bath. A photo of an irregular stone walkway, worn smooth and shiny by millions of feet, with a rough trench cut through the center. There is a bent and aged led pile running through that trench.

I’ve been broken down on a narrow English road far from civilization for over 3 hours now. Flat tire, busy night for recovery/service providers, etc. It’s been fine, we’re fine…but it’s dark now, and I’m still waiting for the tire guy, and I’d just like to go to bed. My view.
Photo of a dark English road, maybe 10 feet wide, lined by tall grass and shrubs and illuminated by headlights. God I hope there aren’t any badgers out here. Or the Green Man. Though, I would welcome the Wild Hunt if they’d give me a ride home.

The stone circles of Avebury aren’t as famous as Stonehenge, but they are an incredible thing to experience if you ever get the chance. Today was my third visit in nearly 20 years, and I’ll happily go back in the future.
A row of tall standing stones trailing off into the distance, part of a massive stone circle that rings an entire English village. A few standing stones lined up from the left side of the frame and curving away toward the right side.

Here’s a cool tree I spotted this morning in Avebury while walking around the stone circle.
Four ancient trees on the top of a low hill, their dense root systems twisting and overlapping in an endless network of lines.

Visiting cool old Iron Age burial mounds is on my morning agenda. As one does.
Wayland’s Smithy, an Iron Age barrow (burial mound) from the front, showing the tall standing stones that mark the entrance, and the blackness of the space inside.
