While the HIV sector continues to expand, many communities still experience inequities in HIV care and services — including people from culturally diverse backgrounds and migrants. For me, this is a reminder that an equitable HIV response means making sure nobody is left behind.

Seeing scholars, community advocates, healthcare workers, peer workers and activists come together reminded me of the incredible synergy within the HIV sector. This is my base.

HIV&AIDS 2026 | Naarm Melbourne I had the privilege of presenting my PhD systematic review on how the lived experiences of men who have sex with men are being embedded in the HIV response. But beyond presenting my research, this conference gave me a lot to reflect on.

Publishing is only part of the journey. This short video shares a key message from our recent @healthpromint.bsky.social paper: meaningful community engagement means moving beyond participation to lived experience leadership. I hope it makes our research more accessible beyond academia.

A takeaway from this week’s Multicultural HIV and Health Symposium: Different perspectives across communities, research, policy, and practice are not barriers—they are opportunities for innovation. Meaningful participation and shared power remain essential for health equity.

Last week, I joined the Multicultural HIV and Health Symposium hosted by Health Equity Matters. One key reflection: stronger HIV responses require greater alignment across advocacy, policy, research, and community sectors. Collaboration matters. #HIV #HealthEquity #LGBTQIA
