Not every optimistic for this game, attack has been quite toothless w/o Bunny Shaw recently & the defence doesn’t fill me with confidence either

Individually tho these Newcastle players’ approach has been brilliant, just seem to *want it* a bit more, minor details here and there but they’re winning a lot of 50/50s bc of it

Just watching the Newcastle v Liverpool game back now. L’pool really struggling to sustain pressure when they do manage to get past Newcastle’s midfield three

A lot of the time the solution is to just accept you can’t replace Rodri and trust whoever you put in that position to do their best, but the overcompensating does more harm than good majority of the time

000

Aaron @aaron-nt.bsky.social · 29/11/2024

I remember the Villa 1-0 last season very well, we played Haaland Foden Alvarez Rico Bernardo Akanji Stones Gvardiol Dias Walker And it was awful, anybody could tell you that midfield isn’t functional

100

Aaron @aaron-nt.bsky.social · 29/11/2024

One of the reasons we play so much worse without Rodri (other than the obvious drop off in quality) is that Pep feels he needs to change the structure of the midfield to cope with not having Rodri, so we end up having often a bad setup which has knock on effect on everything else

Huge fan of Annabel Blanchard

Aaron @aaron-nt.bsky.social · 22/11/2024

Palmer playing RW for arsenal is nowhere near the same player and prob not getting half of the same output as he gets at chelsea. Does that make Palmer a worse player, and if so by how much, or does that just mean palmer doesn’t suit the style and is better in another

100

Aaron @aaron-nt.bsky.social · 22/11/2024

See that’s a great point, bc Gyokeres imo is class, but he’s not gonna succeed the same way for a team like Arsenal, if u send him to Serie A however and have him play in a team that likes counter attacks he’s gonna do amazing, I’m trying to figure out how many points do u dock (if any)

How many elite teams are poss based but not positional tho? I don’t know any personally

100

Aaron @aaron-nt.bsky.social · 22/11/2024

Elite possession sides are the ones who face low blocks most and play positional play so that’s my intention tbh

100

Aaron @aaron-nt.bsky.social · 22/11/2024

How much different is being able to play for madrid under ancelotti to being able to play for brentford example?

100

Aaron @aaron-nt.bsky.social · 22/11/2024

True, yeah I love it but need more listens

000

Aaron @aaron-nt.bsky.social · 22/11/2024

So in other words when rating player do you think about how they’d do playing for Arsenal/City etc and how much does that influence your judgement

200

Aaron @aaron-nt.bsky.social · 22/11/2024

How much does a players scalability to the current elite possession based sides factor in when judging quality?

220

Aaron @aaron-nt.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

Yeah lmao she scored and the fans threw stuff at her and then ref booked her it’s a disgrace

Man City have taken the lead away at Hammarby but it appeared as though several objects were thrown at Bunny Shaw from the Hammarby fans' end there, after she scored the opening goal. At least one - looked like a coin - struck her in the body. Then Shaw was booked... #UWCL #ManCity

Pretty average tbh but ref been awful

Aaron @aaron-nt.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

Apparently you’re not allowed to celebrate a goal and have things thrown at u from the stands or YOU get punished

000

Aaron @aaron-nt.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

Bunny getting a yellow card for that is bullshit lmao

Aaron @aaron-nt.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

I love Bunny Shaw man wow. Yui asw I saw that

000

Aaron @aaron-nt.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

Yeah definitely, & I would’ve started her today tbh

000

Aaron @aaron-nt.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

Hypothetically yeah but she’s just not really good anymore tbh there’s times she should’ve been subbed on but she’s only looked good once all season against Paris tbh everything else has been poor

Aaron @aaron-nt.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

Just downloaded this @undarated.bsky.social app does anybody else have it?

Explanation: I love precision & mastery, players who get things right often with and without the ball >>> I also love technicians, specifically in the pockets And then I love when these players have a bit of tenacity and grit about them
