Also on this day in 1973, Sunderland, a Second Division side at the time, won the FA Cup by beating holders Leeds United in the final. Jimmy Montgomery's incredible performance sealed the win for Sunderland. He's pictured below celebrating with Billy Hughes and Bobby Kerr.
