I think I’ve found my new favorite brush for inking. ❤️ (From True Grit Texture Supply’s “Monomania” brush pack, if you’re curious— they have amazing analog brushes!)

Screenshot of a work-in-progress drawing in the inking stage. The current brush being used can be seen in the brush library.

Managed to snag the Affinity suite for free on my iPad. I've been practicing with it all day today, and I cannot express how much more intuitive this software feels compared to Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Night and day. 🤯

About once every week I spiral a little and wonder if I'm ever really going to be able to make something of myself--as an artist and as a person. I've been trying a little bit of everything over the years and nothing ever sticks... I'm so fucking tired of trying my hardest and getting nowhere.

Favorite part is done. Now time for my least favorite part… rendering! Yay… 🫠 #workinprogress #illustration #originalcharacter #digitalart #procreateartist #blackartist

Playing around with meshes on #ToonSquid. I really like the pair of eyes I doodled here. 👁️ 💕

Going to have to get into a survival mindset. I don't know if I'll ever have the resources to actually live in this lifetime... 🙁

Intrusive Thoughts 💔 When your inner critic tries to discourage you from making art and sharing it with others, defy it. Create anyway. Software: ToonSquid #artistsofbluesky #blackartist #animation #digitalart

I've been working in #toonsquid for the last few days, and I really love how intuitive it is. I was able to jump right in without too much fuss.

I love being a human artist and creating something never before seen, out of my mind’s eye. I love making every decision with care. I love trying and failing. I love noticing mistakes and fixing them. I love it all.

Wishing I would have done more of the sketchbook assignments while I was still in art school. I feel like my art would be miles ahead of where it is now if I had. 😭

If I have advice for any comic creator, it would be to make the career you want to have. Don't rest your dreams on pitches and prayers. Crowdfund. Make comics. Break traditions. Have fun. Find and build your community. Stay flexible. And, most importantly, keep your head up.

Crockett: I am tired of the white tears. When you compare me to Marjorie Taylor Greene or me to Lauren Boebert, there is no comparison. So the only people that are crying are the mediocre white boys that have been beaten out by people that historically have had to work so, so much harder

Went through some of my old art from before my time at SCAD. I noticed that even though my technical skill wasn’t where it is now, I took more chances and tried more things back then. I wasn’t afraid to draw something because I had no regard for the “rules” and just followed my own vibes.

Some more old art while I conjur up the will to draw something new. This is a few years old now, but it's still one of the best things I've ever made. #illustration #digitalartist #blackartist #procreateartist
