On Election Day, all those new ICE agents hired because of the Big Ugly Bill funding will be sent to predominantly minority voting locations and ICE will "detain" those voters before they can vote and hold them until after the polls close. It will all be legal now after this SC decision.

I am a former US Coast Guard officer. Under hot pursuit we needed a SNO (statement of no objection) from the vessel's originating country before DISABLING the boat, firing on the engine or disabling the rudder. We had to wait for the SNO through diplomatic channels. Did we have a SNO in this case?

My question however would be why the configuration warning horn didn't sound (which warns of an improper setting of any flight control surface when takeoff power is applied). While I have zero time in a 787 I cannot imagine a jet full of passengers/fuel could be authorized to takeoff with flaps up.

Apparently the plane crashed only 2 KM from the end of the runway, no where near enough distance to reach 1000 ft and then lose that 1000 feet (let alone the fairly long time it takes to reach flap retraction seed after lowering the nose). If the flaps indeed were up that would be very telling.

Love you Adam but in this case you are incorrect. The LANDING GEAR is retracted immediately after takeoff. In airliners, the flap retraction process does't begin until reaching 1000 feet above the ground in which time the nose is lowered to accelerate to flap retraction speeds.
