Flown sure, but supported for a deployment is more difficult on a small hull - LHA-6 had to give up the well deck to better support a bigger air wing and that’s on a 40k tonne parent hull. I worry if you add basic F-35B support to smaller hull requirements creep will make the design unstable

US sports have far larger flaws overall, but the anti-trust exemptions give the leagues far more power over individual teams than the PL seems to have.

If the punishment is very harsh, does it risk the Super League concept coming back? MCFC takes its fan base and $$ and teams up with European clubs that aren't getting Premier League revenue streams & wanting more security than the Champions League? Will the big PL clubs stay in this situation?

Best reaction so far. There were always going to be bumps. New coach, young squad, and experienced players with injuries. Miley (limited preseason) and Steur as a lower midfield 2 is going to take time. We also had a lot of luck in the prior matches, and it evaporated all at once.

Notably, this class will replace two FFG-7s. The FFG-7s were a frigate export success story for the U.S. in the 1980s. Now we can't build a frigate to save our lives, yet the UK is doing great exporting in this space (the Polish vessel is a Type 31 derivative, and the Type 26 is doing even better)

Yep, the F-110 is interesting, though the closer one gets to a -51 in price and capability, the harder it is to make the case for a frigate over more 51s. What should a USN frigate do? The progressive flooding in the loss of HNoMS Helge Ingstad is also a bit worrying... however, Spain is a non...

or accept a slow retreat from naval power. However, the history of parent hulls clearly shows that using them to short-circuit broken acquisition processes (and here, light a fire under domestic yards) has a long history. It doesn't show low-risk, especially over platform life.

The parent design rides again! Korea and Japan are closer in terms of combat systems and equipment to USN standards; Istanbul is FREMM or worse. None of it is low risk over a platform's life (see FFG-7 gun system issues), and all approaches continue to treat warships as industrial commodities...
