Not a scholar of either field, but ISTM Biblical and Constitutional interpretation frequently share a lot in common. Perhaps because no text has inherent/intrinsic meaning. Meaning has to be imposed. And these texts are given immense weight in validating (or rubber-stamping) social power in the US.
