Rewind ⏰: I’m a younger teacher; a boy disses a library bin, “Fake books. I’m in none.” I say, “Want a story, write it”. He challenges me, “For real?” Me: “In 2 years, my book’ll be in that bin”. I had no clue how to do it. Wanted kids to know they can. 5 years later, Penguin publishes my 5th book.
