Ok, we're calling it now. 2025 is OFFICIALLY the year of the #Oneiromancers! Back in August 2023, we announced this was happening... Stick with us for more updates, as we begin developing our most ambitious project of all time, all throughout this year🌘 #IndieAnimation #B3D

Two oneiromancers looking at you; on the left is Gordz, a green-skinned half human, shooshing. On the right is Heleyna, a much taller, blue-skinned elf, mildly smiling. Both are in their work uniform and draped in formal oneiromancy capes, each showing bages with their initials, rank, and faction insignia.

Don't mess with Jess! 💥 Arguably the 2nd most important character from our project 'Kev'... Say hello to Detective Inspector Jess Drewstead! Easy going, but SERIOUS when it matters... You'll be seeing a lot of her from now on! #IndieAnimation #StickmanStone

The Whistling Stickman has RETURNED 🎶 Introducing the main man, the troublemaker, the titular character himself, Kev Stone! #IndieAnimation #StickmanStone

Simple character turnaround for Kev Stone, a grey stickman with bold dark-grey eyebrows & eyes, light black arms and legs with white rings. He's wearing a red short-sleeved hoodie.

000

What's happening with Kev now? - Kev's out of pre-production since early this year - Voiceovers are done (watch out for 2025! 👀) - NEW Character designs dropping from tomorrow onwards We'll mainly continue refining the look of this series while other Toonshed projects are WIP! Watch out! 💥

A screenshot of blender showing the 3D model rig of Kev Stone, smiling and running.

020

With Kev, the main thing we're moving away from is something called 'PBR', a popular photo-realistic rendering style common in most Pixar films... Here's a random selection of background designs that are officially scrapped:

An underground station platform with signs labelled 'Queen's Cross St. Pancreas'

A row of British semi-detached houses at sunrise

The interior of a house, with an open plan living room.

Here's the problem though... Making major art direction changes involved a lot of ripping up existing animation and starting again, which is extremely time consuming! But It's a decision we stand by, because we think it's going to look 10x better once it's all done 😉 Scene test with Posey:

Since we rebooted the project back in 2023, a lot has changed. Everything you saw at the time - even in the trailer - has since had a massive overhaul... The series is going 2.5D in its art direction!

#IndieAnimation project Kev! A quick update on things... 🧵#StickmanStone

CHASED - A Thread 🧵 (4/5) Assets, assets, assets! That's what we're creating in the meantime; stuff like buildings, signs, vehicles... they all are carefully being created to match the visual look and feel of a modern city that we're going for.

Toonshed @toonshed.com · 23/11/2024

CHASED - A Thread 🧵 (1/5) A little more about Chased, our first upcoming short film! Partly based on true events, it's a Hollywood-style thriller, set in Summer 2021 after a COVID lockdown. A few people's lives are set to change, as an unexpected run-in leads to citywide mayhem.

⁉ Where Toonshed's been... (🧵6/6) Secondly, we on a nicer platform now! 🦋 I hope you're enjoying it as much as we are... Since this past #IndieAnimationDay, regular key updates and sneak peeks are back on the menu... and of course, animation. WE ARE SO BACK!
