Alllllmost worked out how to make these little animal crossing pendants — the antlers are too fine for the machine, so I'll have to add them by hand with liquid enamel

Cheerfully fiddling around with glass while *gestures wildly at everything* has helped me understand Tilly Hill so much better

Three King of the Hill moments: Cotton is yelling "I'll help you with your dishes" while smashing them in the sink with a chair; young Hank asks "Mom, what should I do?"; Tilly is dissociating and dusting her miniatures

Another experiment I'm still tinkering with: glass night lights! 🌾🦩🌾

Frustrating: it's significantly cheaper to buy mason jars new rather than used through FB marketplace etc (because people reselling their junk are insane) More frustrating: Amazon lets me buy only three packs at a time and puts me in buyer timeout for a few weeks every time I do

Amazon page saying quantity limit met

These little flower pendants turned out cute 🌸🌺💐

Do not ❌: approach me from behind Do ✅: give me small buckets of carrots, lettuce, and apples

Written on a board are house rules. Visitors are asked not to approach the alpacas from behind or feed them any food they brought along. Guests are instead given small buckets with carrots, lettuce and apples.

Ok, since folks have asked, I'm going to open up two slots for fused glass fursona ornaments like the ones pictured here. $250 base price, 3.5" minimum diameter and 6" maximum (upcharges for certain colors or design complexities), to be completed by November. DM if you're interested!

While the kiln is going, I cleaned up the wet saw I bought from the nice old glass lady who's retiring and trimmed some pride pattern bars I fused last week (this is one way to create fine detail and repeating tiles for larger projects — when you want to use them, you just cut them into slices) 🏳️‍🌈🐻

Tofte @tofte.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

New experiment today (alongside a bunch of other stuff in the kiln): layered stencils with glass powder (step 1 of 5, so it'll be a couple weeks until I can see the final result)

Stencil of a cat sitting on a branch under a full moon against a night sky. Only the sky is filled in, with shades of blue and cream

I'm under the weather but outside is lovely, so it's a good day to process glass scrap into frit. Here's black opalescent in grades from coarse to powder (I always aim to produce more fine fruit than anything else, so that's the fullest jar)
