Jaafar Ashtiyeh, a 58-year-old Palestinian photographer, suffered injuries to his head and torso and was taken to the hospital by ambulance, according to the international news agency. The agency's news director, Phil Chetwynd, condemned the incident as a 'serious' and 'unacceptable' attack.

Latvian PM Kulbergs' party achieves a historic victory, pushing populists to the margins
With 35.3% of the vote, an unprecedented result for any political party since 1990 in the country, the centrist, pro-European and pro-Ukrainian leader can now form a coalition without the populists.

The jury is still out when it comes to the question wether it works. I do think there's an understanding of why it was used against nazi Germany but never the less, I'd say it's considered morally bad. And, in fact, unnecessary.

An argument for decision making as close to the people as possible. I'd like to expand it to include smaller countries and never to give away powers (like EU, USA). But more importantly this shows that people are good. Bad decisions are made far from the people.

Japan surrendered because they feared a Russian invasion, not because of the terror bombings (every city had already been burnt by fire bombs before the atomic show-off). Dig deep enough and there is always another reason. Terror is terror and immoral and should be avoided at all costs.

Surgery is often a terrible waste of money and health. "[T]wo-thirds of the improvement patients felt after surgery was due, on average, either to the body healing on its own or else to the placebo effects of feeling cared for and prepped for surgery." I believe in small countries, with higher levels of caring and democracy. Not because I want Russia and China to take us over but because we are stronger, smaller and united they have no chance. More voices, that's what democracy is all about! And liberal capitalism. Options. Opinions. Alternatives.
